Sa muling pagde-date nina Sam Milby at Anne Curtis at ang closeness na nakikita sa kanila, marami ang naniniwalang nagkabalikan na ang dating magkasintahan ngunit itinatago lang daw ito ng dalawa sa publiko.
May lumabas ding balita na si Anne daw ang gumawa ng paraan para sa pagbabalikan nila ni Sam, bagay na agad namang binigyang linaw ng Fil-Am actor nang makapanayam siya ng PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) sa bakuran ng ABS-CBN.
"That's not true, we are not back together," tanggi ni Sam. "I know a lot of people are probably thinking that way, pero hindi kami nagkabalikan. Nag-break kami last year. Dumaan din kami sa ilang stage and we outgrew that.
"Now, we hang out a lot. We go out and hang out with friends and even have dinner. We don't want to insist anything, we're just enjoying what we have right now. Kung yun ang mangyayari, let things happen naturally. We did share something deep before, but I can't say we're starting over things. It's not like that," paglilinaw niya.
TEAM-UP WITH BEA. This year ay ipinareha si Sam kay Bea Alonzo sa pelikulang And I Love You So, at mainit ding tinanggap ng publiko ang pagtatambal nila sa Your Song Presents. Dahil dito, marami raw tuloy fans ng Bea-John Lloyd Cruz loveteam ang nangangamba na nagkakaroon na rin ng hukbo ng mga tagahanga ang tambalang Sam at Bea.
Ano ang reaksiyon dito ni Sam?
"I don't think they should be threatened naman," sabi ni Sam. "I think when you are paired with other people, you grow as an actor and as an actress, and I think that's what they wanted to do.
"I'm sure they also reacted when Sarah [Geronimo] and John Lloyd's movie really became a hit also. I hope they are not threatened. They're having another movie, malakas talaga yung following nila. For me, by heart, two of the most talented actors and actresses are Bea and John Lloyd."
Sam also expressed his gratitude sa pagsuporta ng avid followers ng John Lloyd-Bea fans sa And I Love You So. Masaya ring ibinalita ng aktor sa PEP na ang nasabing pelikula ang highest grosser sa lahat ng pelikula ng Star Cinema na nagkaroon ng international screening.
"I'm very happy and thankful dahil yung mga international screening sa TFC, yung movie namin ni Bea ang pinaka-highest grossing sa lahat ng mga international screening. I wanna thank all the viewers and John-Bea fans 'cause they also supported our movie."
ANG TANGING PAMILYA. Sa November 11 ay ipalalabas na ang kinabibilangang pelikula ni Sam, Ang Tanging Pamilya, under Star Cinema. Kasama niya rito sina Ai-Ai delas Alas, Toni Gonzaga, Mommy Dionisia Pacquiao, at former President Joseph Estrada.
Ayon kay Sam, maraming dapat abangan sa pelikula nilang ito.
"It's an honor, siyempre it's the Comedy Queen [Ai-Ai], the former President, plus Mommy Dionisia on her very first movie—ako ang anak niya sa movie—so it's a big privilege and honor. It was a lot of fun kasi ito yung first movie ko na talagang comedy na comedy. May mga comedy movies ako na ginawa dati, pero romantic comedy tapos umiikot yung kuwento sa amin ni Toni. But ito, comedy na comedy talaga.
"Kami naman ni Toni," patuloy niya, "what's great about her after two years na hindi kami nagkasama sa mga movie, hindi siya nagbago. She was really nice, she was a fun person on and off screen, she's really funny... And maybe that's the reason why on screen, may chemistry kami. Kasi off screen, we really get along well."
Kung ang iba ay natatali sa mga ka-loveteam nila, hindi naman ito naging problema kay Sam. Kahit kanino siya ipareha ay kumikita ang mga pelikula at nagre-rate ang mga show na tinatampukan niya.
"I've been teamed up with Toni, I've been teamed up with Anne, with Angel [Locsin], with Bea... Pero kahit sinong i-team up sa akin, the public still support me," pagsusuma ni Sam nang walang halong pagmamalaki.
SHOP AND SHARE. Speaking of Anne and Angel, isa si Sam sa mga artistang sumuporta at nagbigay ng gamit niya sa Shop and Share project ng dalawang aktres. After i-donate ang gitarang may sentimental value kay Sam, nangako ang aktor na dadagdagan pa niya ito.
"I already gave my guitar na ginamit ko sa And I Love You So, sa Tanging Pamilya, and sa solo concert ko last year. It's a for a cause naman and I hope na it's sold for a good price naman para maraming mga nangangailangan na matulungan.
"May idadagdag pa akong ibibigay, yung mga clothes na ginamit ko before sa mga shows and movies ko, bags din, and even shoes. Of course, whatever I can give na makakatulong sa iba," saad ni Sam.
Sa ngayon ay wala sa bansa si Sam. He's with John Lloyd, Bea, and Piolo Pascual for their Heartthrobs concert in Europe. Babalik si Sam ng Pilipinas in time for the premiere night of Ang Tanging Pamilya on November 10.
