Muling nakaharap ng PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) at iba pang entertainment press ang TV host-actress na si Kris Aquino sa presscon para sa kanyang bagong endorsement, ang 555 Tuna. Ginanap ang presscon kahapon, November 3, sa 9501 restaurant ng ELJ Bldg. sa ABS-CBN compound.
Nabanggit ni Kris na hanggang ngayon ay nagpaparamdam pa rin ang kanyang ina, ang yumaong former President Cory Aquino.
Kuwento niya, "Yeah, the last was Sunday [Nov. 1, All Saint's Day] sa house [sa Valle Verde]. Kasi nag-Manila Memorial kami, di ba? Saturday [Oct. 31] kami nagpunta. Si Baby James, katok nang katok dun sa tomb niya. Sabi niya, 'Lola, wake up! Wake up!' Ginaganun niya. So, katok siya nang katok.
"That night when we got home, sila ni James [Yap, asawa ni Kris] yung nandun... meron kaming maliit na home theater room. Sila yung nanonood doon ng Michael Jackson. Tapos nung 11 p.m., sinabi ni James na, 'Tama na. Sleep ka na. Akyat na. Off na natin to.' 11 p.m. yun. Si James ang nagpatay nung buong home theater. Kasi, marami kang pipindutin to turn that off, di ba?
"Meron siyang [James] workout the next day noong Sunday. So, habang nagbe-breakfast siya, bigla daw... Kasi alam niyang pinatay niya yun, in-off niya yung TV, in-off niya yung music, lahat... On full volume, as in yung buong house, narinig si 'Beat It' [kanta ni Michael Jackson]. Tapos sabi ni James, talaga raw tumindig lahat ng balahibo niya! Kasi para ngang ang Mom, nagparamdam dahil nga ginigising ni Baby James. Nagpa-feel siya."
Favorite ba ng Mom niya si Michael Jackson?
"Hindi, hindi nga, e," sagot ni Kris. "Si Baby James ang may gusto sa kanya. At that time na biglang nag-on lahat, Baby James was tulog pa. It's only James who woke up dahil kailangang mag-workout. Our dining kasi is karugtong lang nung theater. So, lahat daw sila natakot, kasi nga biglang loud na loud na naka-on!"
HOW KRIS-PINKY QUARREL ENDED. Sa tingin niya ba, may gusto pang ipahiwatig ang Mom niya kaya patuloy pa rin itong nagpaparamdam?
"Yung ano... Siyempre, nag-freak out si Pinky [sister ni Kris]. Sabi niya, 'Hoy, bakit mo naman ikinuwento sa The Buzz na nag-away tayo?' Sabi ko, 'Wala lang.' And then that day, kasi nga nag-away kami. Kami lang naman ni Pinky ang nagkaanuhan.
"So, habang naliligo ako dun sa banyo ko... and it's dimmer, ha. It's not the type na on-off, on-off, yung dimmer na gaganunin mo. Grabe, three times! The lights, on-off... on-off, tapos three seconds, on-off, tapos another one ulit. Three times yun na ganun. Kasi sinabi ko kay Pinky, 'My God, bahala na ang Mom sa iyo!'"
E, bakit sa kanya nagparamdam?
"Siguro sinabi sa akin to be humble," sagot ni Kris.
Pero ano ba talaga ang dahilan ng away nila ni Pinky?
"Kasi... anyway tapos na... Yung sisters ko kasi, hindi naiintindihan na when you're premiering an MTV [Noynoy's political ad campaign], you build up, di ba, on that? You hype it. So, kailangan na pag sinabi mong within TV Patrol siya mag-e-air, dun siya mag-e-air. E, yung sister ko [Pinky], pinahiram yung material sa kabila [GMA-7]. And because they're gonna do a story about political ad. She [Pinky] doesn't mean any harm. But sabi ko, 'Why will you allow them to preempt the material that will air at 7:45 or 8 o'clock tonight at baka ilagay nila yung story early on?' So, nasira yung suspense.
"Kaya iyak ako nang iyak dahil nga pinaghirapan nga namin talaga ni Boy [Abunda] and all. Habang nagso-sorry siya [Pinky], iyak ako nang iyak kasi sobrang emotional ako. Sabi niya, 'The last that Mom would want is that nag-aaway-away tayo because of this.' So, siya yung nakiusap doon sa [GMA] News na, 'Can you hold that story? Now I understand what Kris was trying to say.' Kasi, the first airing should be there [TV Patrol World]," paliwanag ni Kris.
Hindi naman daw sa nagdadamot si Kris, pero nauna na kasi siyang naka-commit sa ABS-CBN. Kaya gumawa ng paraan si Kris para makausap si Jessica Soho, na executive ng GMA-7 News department.
"In all fairness naman, nakausap ko naman si Jessica," sabi ni Kris. "Tapos in-explain ko sa kanya yung situation. Tapos sinabi ko rin na, 'You know, we were honestly trying to buy.' And yung three minutes [spot], hindi maibenta. Kaya nila one minute. Sabi ko, 'Jessica, it's not like pinaboran ko lang ang ABS at sa ABS ko lang gusto. I wanted both [networks] because nga there's Ogie [Alcasid] and Regine [Velasquez], then Dingdong [Dantes] and Marian [Rivera] there.'
"Sabi ko nga, kung puwede. Pero wala talaga silang maibigay na spot. It's only by Thursday or Friday na magkakaroon na sa kabila, except for the exposure in Eat Bulaga!, na we're so blessed to have. But Eat Bulaga! kasi it's TAPE, not GMA. So, yun lang yung pinag-a-argue-han namin ng sister ko na iyak ako nang iyak sa phone. But they already gave the material back. Tapos sabi niya [Pinky], 'Brainwash ka masyado ng ABS.' Sabi ko, hindi. Until finally na-get na niya. Naintindihan na niya, so tapos na."
NOYNOY'S MTV. Dahil napag-uusapan na rin naman ang MTV ni Noynoy na "Di Ka Nag-iisa", tinanong na rin kay Kris kung labor of love ba ang appearance ng big stars sa MTV; na kinabibilangan nina Regine Velasquez, Ogie Alcasid, Sharon Cuneta, Boy Abunda, Ai-Ai delas Alas, Dingdong Dantes, Marian Rivera, Bea Alonzo, Anne Curtis, Erik Santos, Mariel Rodriguez, Bianca Gonzales, at ang asawa ni Kris na si James Yap kasama ang team nito sa PBA.
"Yeah, grabe!" bulalas ni Kris. "Ay naku, talagang inaano ko. Sabi ko kay Noy... cost of production na lang, e. Three nights kami nag-shoot. Niregalo yun ni Direk Onat, who does The Buzz. And then, iniregalo ni Shane Sarte yung pag-aano niya... Tapos si Eddie Boy Tuviera did the steady cam. If you're gonna rent that steady cam on a daily basis, 50,000 pesos for a day. E, three nights yun, e, di 150,000 pesos na yun, di ba? Tapos yung direktor, normally ang direktor sa ganyang commercial, half a million yun. Di ba, kung iisipin mo, you're really so touched sa lahat ng ibinigay?
