"I think he knows what he's talking about," said the young actress, whose own public service is an auction website that benefits typhoon victims. "We're all keeping all our minds open. So far, he's the one kasi na ang linis ng reputation sa policy. I don't think he'll do anything to ruin 'yong legacy ng family."

Before they shot the music video "Hindi Ka Nag-iisa," the celebrities who took part in it had dinner with Noynoy Aquino, the main subject of the video and a presidential aspirant in the coming 2010 elections.
One of the stars who appeared in the video ad was Anne Curtis who threw a relevant question to Kris Aquino's brother during the gathering.
In an interview, Anne narrated what happened that night: "When we attended that dinner, open-minded ang lahat na puwedeng mag-support, puwede ring hindi. Basta ito ang chance to get to know him para alam mo, if ever you support him, alam mo kung saan siya nanggagaling at ano [ang plans] niya.
"Ang tinanong ko lang was, 'Let's just say we all decide to support you,' sabi ko, 'what are your plans for us? What can we do?' Nandiyan na kasi ang mga anti-drugs, nandiyan na ang mga [ibang issues]. Sabi ko, 'How will you stand on your own and make something different?'"
She didn't go into detail on what Noynoy said that night, but Anne related, "There are so many things that he can do. He brought up education, mayroon pang feeding. So far, I think he knows what he's talking about."
Does this mean she's giving her full support to the son of the late President Corazon Aquino and Senator Benigno Aquino Jr.?
Anne replied, "Well, for me, parang we're all keeping all our minds open. I think, so far, he's the one kasi na ang linis ng reputation sa policy. I don't think he'll do anything to ruin 'yong legacy ng family."
CELEBRITIES AND THEIR INFLUENCE. Anne said that joining Nonoy's "Hindi Ka Nag-iisa" music video was her own decision and that her manager didn't try to influence her one way or the other.
"For me, it's my personal life na," explained the former Dyosa actress. "You know, I think from the beginning, I've always been one of their talents na parang whatever I believe in, [hindi nila pinakikialaman]. From the beginning naman 'yon, even in terms of love team. I believe that, yes, this is my career, and I love my acting, but this is acting. Viva naman has always allowed me."
She added, "Me, I always live my life how I want to live it. I've never been one na parang, 'Yong image ko, paano 'to? Baka sabihin nila...' Ako kasi, what you see is what you get talaga. Parang siguro kaya natanggap ng mga tao kasi may mga taong nakaka-relate sa akin and I think that's what matters. So, walang skeleton sa closet ko.
"Wala talagang skeletons sa closet ko, alam mo 'yon? I think that's what matters kasi mahirap na image ka biglang may lumabas na something na ikakagulat ng lahat."
Anne feels that as a celebrity, she has a big responsibility to the public. "I guess it's because artistas here, after politicians, play a big role also. Kasi, parang sila rin ang light ng fellow countrymen natin. We also do naman kasi what we can do to help, so feeling ko that's why they have big influences."
SHOP AND SHARE. One of the things that Anne is doing right now to make a difference is a fundraising project with fellow actress Angel Locsin that will benefit victims of the recent typhoons. Called Shop and Share, it's an auction website where people can bid for expensive personal items donated by celebrities. Anne is happy to report that Shop and Share is doing very well.
"Ang dami na naming donations, mga 250 [items]!" exclaimed Anne. "Nasa thousands of dollars na. Pagdating ng US$10,000, once we reach that, we'll [donate the proceeds]."
The two actresses have several charities in mind, but the Showtime host said, "I think it's more of [the Philippine National] Red Cross talaga muna."
Anne would like to see their donations go to livelihood or rehabilitation programs instead of the usual relief goods.
"I think we are no longer in need of relief goods. Kasi ang dami na ngang walang pera, livelihood na ang kailangan. Kailangan nang ayusin ang mga kalye, schools, kahit pakonti-konti lang. I think that's where we should start... We also have to give a way na parang they will help themselves. 'Yon ang kailangan, hindi 'yong naghihintay lang sila."
For those who want to place their bids on the items donated by celebrities, you may check shopandshare.ph. Among the local stars who have donated precious items are Kris Aquino, Regine Velasquez, KC Concepcion, Piolo Pascual, Dingdong Dantes, Marian Rivera and John Lloyd Cruz.
