"I just laughed about it because it reminds to always do my best also after. At saka, it reminds me na kapag naiisip ko ang position ko ngayon, kahit anong mistakes, puwede kang makaangat dun, puwede kang makabalik at mag-turn around. Huwag mong hayaang mag-stuck lang dun. Yes, nasa record mo na yun, pero puwede mong matabunan yun sa dami ng extra success na puwede mong gawin after that," says Christian Bautista two years after his National Anthem booboo.

That's a great idea because I love Jose Mari Chan's songs and I always dreamed of singing it before, especially in Jakarta kasi naririnig ko pa ang Jose Mari Chan [songs] dun hanggang ngayon sa radio.
"Next year, gusto kong mag-focus sa international. Para something different naman. And somehow ma-recognize ang Philippines ulit na we are a talented nation. We are a great nation. We are a kind nation. Although, there are some unkind people!" natawa niyang sabi.
So, it's time to tell the world na kaya pa natin, we're still okay."
LIFE AFTER ANTHEM BLUNDER. More than two years ago—September 16, 2007—kinanta si Christian ang Philippine National Anthem sa boxing match nina Gerry Peñalosa at Concepcion Bernabe.
"Oh, yeah," sagot niya. "It's a bad mistake. Sales were down. Nobody wanted to hire me kasi, parang... E, some people or a lot of people, mas gusto nilang tirahin ang tao kesa sa iangat.
After a few months, may concert ako, Christian Inspired sa Cuneta [Astrodome], marami namang tao.
I just laughed about it because it reminds to always do my best also after. At saka, it reminds me na kapag naiisip ko ang position ko ngayon, kahit anong mistakes, puwede kang makaangat dun, puwede kang makabalik at mag-turn around. Huwag mong hayaang mag-stuck lang dun. Yes, nasa record mo na yun, pero puwede mong matabunan yun sa dami ng extra success na puwede mong gawin after that."
Sa success na tinatamasa niya with his new album, aniya, "Puwede na nating sabihin natabunan na yun and I hope marami pa ring mangyayari. And in a way, nakanta ko na rin ang National Anthem sa opening ng NCAA."
ZERO LOVELIFE.
Pareho na ulit silang single and available ng kanyang ex-girlfriend na si Rachelle Ann Go, who recently broke up with dancer Gab Valenciano. Kumusta na sila ni Rachelle?
"Friends naman kami," sagot ni Christian. "Hindi naman nawala yung friendship. Of course, it will not be as close definitely as before. Ngayon lang, e, she's going through another breakup. Pero sabi ko naman sa ilang interview, I'll be praying for both of them. It's sad, it's sad na nagka-break sila."
Nagkausap na ba sila personally?
"Sa ASAP lang, parang we were in a group. And she said, she's okay naman daw. And I believe naman na in a relationship, it's good to still be the best with that person kasi you will continually see that person, whoever that person is. So, I'll just gonna pray for her and Gab as well."
If ever, posible kayang magkabalikan sila ni Rachelle?
"I'm enjoying my single life right now. Tiningnan ko ang schedules ko, punong-puno. Totoo pala yung there's no time. Pero kung ma-meet ko ang girl, I will make time for her, definitely.
Right now, right at this moment, hindi na muna kasi you have to balance this thing.
And I will need a really, really understanding girl. Pero right now, I enjoy my life. I can go out with anybody at wala kang iisipin muna. Okey rin, e," nakangiti niyang sabi.
