Dennis Trillo admits talking with former girlfriend Cristine Reyes recently about their past issues. The 28-year-old actor said he really intended to talk to Ara Mina's younger sister.
"Para sa akin kasi, marami kaming hindi napag-usapan noon. And sa sobrang daming magagandang nangyari sa akin, gusto ko maging maayos ang lahat, lalo na ngayon magpa-Pasko. Gusto ko walang may masama ang loob sa akin. Gusto ko na walang mabigat akong dinadala," Dennis explained in an interview with PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) before leaving for Beijing, China to shoot some scenes for the movie Mano Po 6.
Aside from clearing past issues, Dennis said he wants to balance the positive things that are happening in his career. These include hosting the fifth season of StarStruck V, the weekly gag show Bubble Gang, the Christmas episode of SRO: Cinemaserye, and the movie Mano Po 6.
The singer-actor said it is also part of his preparation to welcome 2010 without any ill feeling towards other people. "Kaya ayun, minabuti ko na magkita kami, mag-usap kami, kuwentuhan, and kamustahan. At naayos namin yung kung ano 'yong mga hindi napag-usapan."
Did he also do something like that with Pauleen Luna, with whom he reportedly had a "special relationship" while doing Adik Sa'Yo?
Dennis said the issue between him and Pauleen had been cleared before, which is why he did not talk about it anymore. (CLICK HERE to read related article.)
"Sa totoo lang, noong times na hindi na kami nagkikita, nag-usap naman kami. Maayos naman naming napag-usapan kung ano man yung mga dahilan. Ngayon, medyo hindi na kami masyadong nagkikita. Puwede na siguro 'yon. Para sakin, okay na yun, e," he said.
COPING WITH LOSS. Meanwhile, PEP also asked how Dennis was doing after the tragic death of his friend Jollybee "JB" Borbajo in Boracay last September. (CLICK HERE to read related article.)
The actor said he already accepted what happened to be able to move on with his life. He added, "Okay na naman. Pinilit ko na huwag ma-trauma dun sa pangyayari na yun. Sinikap ko rin na kahit mahirap kalimutan hindi ko na siya... Hindi ko na siya masyadong iniisip kasi after naman noon, marami namang maganda ring nangyari sa akin."
The tragedy helped him realize a lot of things about life. Dennis explained, "Marami rin akong natutunan na maganda dun sa pangyayari na yun. Mas na-appreciate ko 'yong life, small things sa buhay na nagpapasaya sa 'yo. And yung every minute na buhay ka dahil doon sa pangyayaring yun, parang mas lalo akong naging thankful. Paggising pa lang sa umaga hanggang sa pag-uwi ko sa bahay, talagang nagpapasalamat ako na safe ako lagi."
He gave advice to people who might have experienced losing someone dear in an accident. "Kailangan lang maging matatag ka lagi kasi talagang nangyayari yung aksidente, hindi mo maiiwasan 'yon. Dapat lang talaga na... kailangan matibay ka lang. Kasi, kung doon ka lang magpo-focus sa nangyaring hindi maganda na yun, makakabigat lang sa 'yo yun, makakabagal yun sa pag-unlad mo bilang isang tao."
SOURCE OF JOY. In the interview, proud daddy Dennis also talked about his two-year-old son, Calix Andreas, with former girlfriend Carlene Aguilar.
"Grabe, sobrang kulit niya ngayon!" boasted Dennis. "Sobrang daldal niya. Lahat ng marinig niya ginagaya niya na. Nakakabuo na siya ng sentences. Talagang conversational na siya ngayon. Kahit anong makita niya or mapanood niya sa TV or marinig niya, kaya na niyang gayahin. Mahilig siyang kumanta, mahilig siya sa music, mahilig sa games, kaya ako, sobrang naaaliw ako."
The Kapuso actor said that seeing his son relieves his stress from work. "Sa ngayon, siya yung nagbibigay talaga ng... hindi lang basta happiness, e, kumbaga joy talaga—'yong galing sa puso na saya, 'yong parang walang papantay na saya."
