"Nagulat ako nung malaman ko na tatakbo siya," sabi ni Luis. "When everything happened, I was in Las Vegas. Hanggang sa umabot nga sa akin yung balita na tumakbo siya. Nung una, hindi pa ako naniwala. But I know what he is capable of doing. I know yung pagkatao niya, his integrity as a person, and his capability of helping other people if he's given a position in the government. I have faith in my dad whether for vice president, for senator, or kung ano pa man," pahayag ni Luis.
Ilang araw pagkatapos ianunsiyo ni Edu ang kanyang pagtakbo bilang vice president ay inamin nito ang breakup nila ng news broadcaster na si Pinky Webb. Ayaw namang magbigay ng komento tungkol dito si Luis, pero nandun ang hiling niya na maayos sana ng dalawa kung anuman ang gulo nila. (CLICK HERE to read related story.)
"Matagal-tagal na sila," sabi ni Luis. "Kung anuman ang naging problema, sana maayos nila 'cause I guess as a couple, they've been through a lot talaga. Hindi ko alam kung totoo na kaya sila nag-break is because of that, not until I heard from them. I don't want to speculate kasi medyo it's a personal matter. Until I heard talaga from daddy or kay Pinky, di muna ako magko-comment."
Bukod kay Edu, tatakbo rin sa 2010 elections ang ina at stepfather ni Luis na sina Batangas governor Vilma Santos at former Senator Ralph Recto. Parehong for re-election ang tatakbuhin ng mag-asawang Recto.
Maging si Luis ay nababalita ring tatakbo. Ano ang masasabi niya rito?
"Sabi ko nga, tatakbo ako sa barangay tanod!" biro niya. "But kidding aside, not yet. Maybe next election, but definitely not now kasi marami pa akong dapat gawin sa industriya. Let's see, I'll just cross the bridge when I get there. Kumbaga, hindi ko isinasara ang pinto ko sa pulitika."
