Halos dalawang buwang nawala sa sirkulasyon ang actress na si Sunshine Dizon. Iba't ibang ispekulasyon ang naglabasan sa pagkawala niya. All issues have remained unanswered, kaya marami na lang ang nagulat noong Biyernes, November 27, nang biglang si Sunshine ang tumambad sa "Chika Minute" segment ng 24 Oras para mag-pinch hit para kay Pia Guanio noong gabing iyon.
At kinabukasan naman, Sabado, November 28, ay nakausap na siya ng ilang piling entertainment press, kabilang na ang PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal), nang magdaos siya ng gift giving sa Rasak Sports Complex sa Avenida Rizal, Manila.
"I always do it in Iloilo. If you remember last year, we normally do that naman. But ang hirap lumuwas ng Iloilo ngayon because of the schedule rin. I just thought na lang na it's better rin baka we can do it here na lang, at saka para mas marami rin.
"And hopefully, we're still planning na baka makauwi pa rin kami ng Iloilo para sa mga kababayan ko rin naman."
Talagang naka-bonus ang 2,000 katao ng 3rd District of Manila na nakadalo sa pabuya. Bukod sa mga laruan para sa mga bata, nagpakain rin sina Sunshine at ang co-organizers niya, at naghandog pa ng free show si Sunshine.
FOR THE KIDS. Kaya napiling idaos ang gift giving sa 3rd District ay dahil sa mga batang sakop ng Department of Social Welfare and Development.
"Siyempre, kung meron ka namang konting ise-share, i-share mo na lang sa mga bata dahil magpa-Pasko, di ba?" paliwanag ni Sunshine, na tinuwid din ang akalang paghahanda ito sa pagpasok niya sa pulitika.
"Before, I'm supposed to run for Iloilo. But I can't, e, at the moment. Puwede ka namang tumulong ng hindi tumatakbo, di ba?"
Ayon kay Sunshine, "Sobrang bait din naman ng mga kaibigan ko. There's Nino Reyes of FEU [Far Eastern University] Hospital, he sent in sacks of rice, noodles, mga canned goods. Also my friends from Pampanga like Ocampo family. They sent Wow Mani! [a snack]. Sila Tito Darius for hotdogs, sila Doc Manny Calayan, they sent mga sandwiches at yung friend ko, si Tim Tan, they own groceries in Pampanga at siya naman ang nag-donate ng mga juices for the kids. So, group effort lang."
EXPLAINING HER ABSENCE. Nasaan nga ba siya noong biglang naging inactive siya sa showbiz? Umalis ba siya ng bansa?
"Hindi, hindi ako umalis. I'm just here. Most of the times nasa Pampanga ako... mga weekends. Sometimes naman the whole week... Nagsasali-salitan kami. Paganun-ganun lang kami."
Once and for all, bakit nga ba siya nawala?
"Because I got sick. I couldn't handle the schedules for the taping. Na-overfatigue ako. So, yun... I just had to rest. Too bad lang, you know naman how it is. Kung gamit nga nawawalan ng baterya, tao pa kaya?"
Dugtong pa niya, "A lot of issues came out nga. Kesyo buntis daw, kesyo napagkamatay, ano pa ba? Lahat na lang, di ba?...
"Wala... I got tired, I got sick, I got hospitalized. I rested and I'm okay now."
Balitang may boyfriend siya sa Pampanga kaya nawiwili siyang pumunta-punta doon ngayon.
"Wala po akong boyfriend do'n and my friends can attest to that... I'm very much single."
At di niya raw boyfriend ang kapatid ni Tanya Garcia na si Patrick Lyttle. "Wala na yun! Matagal na matagal na yun, hello!" mariing sinabi niya. "I'd rather not talk about him because he's not naman from the business. So, let's just keep him private. Okey na yun... Wala naman siyang kinalaman sa kung anuman ang nagaganap ngayon."
PLANS FOR THE FUTURE. Totoo bang lilipat na siya sa ABS-CBN?
"May kontrata pa po ako sa GMA," natatawa niyang sinabi. "They just renewed me for another two years."
