Tim Yap is known as an "eventologist" for always being present in most of the parties and events around the metro, but what ordinary people don't know is that he is also a businessman.

Aside from his controversial Embassy Cuisine and Superclub, which was renamed as Encore recently, at The Fort in Taguig City, Tim also owns the Manor club in Eastwood City, Libis, Quezon city.  Outside Manila he has the newly built Mansion club in Angeles, Pampanga and a hotel in Boracay called The Tides.

The TV personality admitted that at first he was very hands on with his business. This time, however, Tim may have to leave it to his manager to focus on his hosting career. He's currently hosting QTV-11's Events Incorporated and will soon be one of the editors in the entertainment program called Tweetbiz.

"Ngayon I really wanna concentrate on my being a TV host talaga," said Tim.

"'Yong mga negosyo na ginawa ko, it sustained itself.  Kasi, pagkatapos noon 'yong mga managers na-train na nang mabuti.  So, kumbaga, sila na nagha-handle.  I just go there to party, like mga Christmas party.  I'm a vision person, e.  I look at the big picture, 'tapos 'yong mga day-to-day sa iba ko na pinapagawa."

The newspaper columnist said hosting a TV show was not really a new thing for him.  In the past, he hosted several shows on MTV channel, joined Y Speak and Wazzup, Wazzup in Studio 23.  He was also proud to say that he once used to be one of the hosts of the weekly showbiz talk show The Buzz.

"Kumbaga, bilang host, nandun na talaga ako, being a host," he said.

As the host of Tweetbiz, Tim said it's not different from the current show he's hosting.  "Events Incorporated naman, it's still part of show business.  Parang ang transition niya, 'yong mga kino-cover ng Events Inc., marami rin naman doon mga showbiz parties," he said.

He also mentioned how it would be easy for him to host the newest showbiz program of QTV-11.  Tim explained, "Ako naman, since marami sa kanila kaibigan ko—kilala ko sila, nakikita ko sila—puwede ko silang tawagan [at tanungin], 'O, totoo ba 'to? Ano ba ang nangyari talaga diyan?'  Straight from the horse's mouth, di ba?"

He also proved that unlike other showbiz stories, theirs would not include their personal biases so that the showbiz personalities would trust them "insider information."

Tim said, "Kasi alam nila na kapag kinuwento ko ang kuwento nila, it will be very fair at walang bahid ng malisya.  Kasi ang pagkuwento naman ng showbiz news, e, nasa perspective.  Lahat naman ng bagay nasa tama ang pagkahayag.

"Walang personal biases kasi kung ano ang sinabi ng [co-hosts ko], wala akong magagawa.  Ganun naman sa totoong buhay kapag nagkukuwentuhan tayo sa mga paborito nating artista."

Everday at 7:00 p.m., starting December 7, QTV viewers will see Tim working as an editor with radio jocks Mr. Fu and Sam Y.G.  Their stories will be gathered by their Tweetbiz paparazzi namely Justine Ferrer and Suzuki Sadatsugu of Survivor Philippines Palau; showbiz columnists Gorgy Rula and Ron Carrasco; Dansen Santos and Sebastian.

NEW NAME, OLD DOG?  When Tim decided to renovate and give a new name to his controversial bar at The Fort, many people still doubted if this would already avoid the controversies that happened there before. (CLICK HERE to read related article)

But the TV host assured that the place is now more secure than before.
