Iza Calzado looks forward to making the Ang Panday sequel

Tila may alinlangan noong una si Iza Calzado kung makakasama siya sa sequel ng Ang Panday, ang top grosser at Best Picture ng 2009 Metro Manila Film Festival.
"Siyempre, it would be nice to be part of Panday part two. But you also have to be open to possibilities na parang things can change. Pero siyempre kung ikaw lang, you'll get your hopes up and you want to be part of it pa," sambit ni Iza nang makausap siya ng PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) sa thanksgiving at victory party ng Ang Panday na idinaos ng producers nitong GMA Films at Imus Productions kahapon, January 8, sa Annabel's Restaurant.
Napangiti nang husto si Iza nang i-announce ng bida ng Ang Panday na si Ramon "Bong" Revilla Jr. na lahat ng kasama sa cast ng movie ay kabilang rin sa sequel nito, lalung-lalo na si Iza na leading lady ng actor-senator. Ginagampanan ni Iza ang role ni Maria, ang babaeng nagpaibig kay Flavio o ang panday, played by Bong.
"Masayang-masaya ako. Sana lang mas maaksyon yung gagawin ko sa part two," sabi ni Iza.
NEXT PROJECTS. Bukod sa Ang Panday sequel, marami pang ibang projects si Iza sa 2010.
"I'm starting Working Girls [under Viva Films] by the end of January. Three days lang ako doon, and most of us, three days lang kasi ang daming artista, e. Tapos I will be starting the cooking show on QTV by February. Then my next project na soap, hindi ko pa puwedeng sabihin. But sabi meron daw. At saka may StarStruck pa tayo."
Happy si Iza at na-extend for three weeks pa ang airing ng pinagbibidahan niyang panghapong sinenovela ng GMA-7 na Kaya Kong Abutin ang Lahat.
Ano pa ba ang mahihiling ni Iza sa 2010?
"I have several goals for 2010 sa career, financial, meron sa health. Iba-iba, e, ang dami kong goals. I want to take some dancing lessons again. Kasi last year hindi ako gaanong nakapag-dance class. E, mahilig talaga akong magsayaw, kaya feeling ko naiwan yung part na yun. I want to be more fit with the help of my boyfriend. Being active, I hope to find something else that I can be busy with aside from running.
"Maybe I can take up voice lessons. But I'm hoping kasi pag nagmo-mall show ako, gusto kong ibigay lahat. Kaya kong mag-emote pero yung boses ko hindi nagma-match doon sa emote ng mukha ko.
"For 2010 I also hope to do more movies. And the cooking show, malaking bagay sa akin yun kasi gusto kong ma-hone yung skills ko as a host and I want to start to cook. Kasi vision ko talaga... meron talaga akong pangarap na mag-open ng cafe or resto."
SHOWBIZ CAREER FOR BOYFRIEND? Madalas daw na sabay silang mag-workout ng boyfriend niyang si Atticus King.
"I always wanted to become more fit and healthier. I found the perfect partner siguro in trying to get closer to that goal. Minsan lang kumakawala kami, tapos napapa-pig out. Pero we wish we could be more focused sa goal namin."
May nangungulit ba kay Atticus na pasukin na rin ang showbiz?
"Ewan ko, kasi sinabi niya sa akin na baka mag-showbiz siya. So, yung mga friends niya tumatawag sa kanya, inaasar siya. Of course, he is not an actor, he is a businessman. So, I guess if he sees an opportunity somewhere, he will do something about it. But I don't think acting is a main concern. But acting maybe not so much, maybe sa music and more photo shoot, puwede pa."
May nagsasabing posible raw kunin ng Men's Health magazine para sa cover si Atticus.
"Talaga? Ay, I love that, pangarap niya yun. Aba, ibang klase na itong boyfriend ko. Ano bang meron siya? I'm so thrilled. I'm very happy for him."
Nakikita niya rin ba na rumarampa si Atticus sa Cosmopolitan Bachelor Bash at tinitilian ng mga girls?
"Hindi kaya mangalmot ako ng mga babae niyan?" biro ni Iza. "E, kung yun talaga yung pupuntahan niya, okay lang sa akin yun. Basta kung anuman ang mangyari, may porsiyento ako sa lahat ng gagawin niya!"
