As a free [person], I have the liberty to do that," says Rosanna Roces about the negative remarks she blurted out against teachers during the January 7 episode of Showtime. The said incident resulted to a 20-day preventive suspension of the show, which started on January 11.

Former sexy actress Rosanna Roces was unaware about the recent development on Showtime controversy when PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) interviewed her on the set of her upcoming indie film Presa. The shooting took place at the Correctional Institution for Women in Mandaluyong City yesterday afternoon, January 15.

PEP related to the actress that the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) is now looking at canceling Magpasikat, the show that temporarily replaced Showtime, as well.

It will be recalled that Showtime was given a 20-day preventive suspension, which was caused by Rosanna's negative comments about teachers during the show's January 7 episode. (CLICK HERE to read related article.)

The MTRCB insisted during its first hearing on the complaint last January 14, that Magpasikat and Showtime  "are one and the same show," thus, the replacement should also go off the air.

In an interview with ABS-CBN, MTRCB legal counsel Jonathan Presquito, said, "'Yong suspension ng Showtime ay i-extend doon sa Magpasikat because they're one and the same." However, before they issue the suspension, the hearing committee of the censorship bureau clarified that they will do an investigation first.

POWER-TRIPPING? Going back to Rosanna, her initial reaction to this recent development was: "I think it's the case of ano, e, napag-iinitan.

As much as possible, the actress doesn't want to comment on the issue anymore because it's already under investigation. She added, "May lawyer naman sila, e, [Showtime], they know what to do."

However, in the course of the interview, Rosanna reiterated that she immediately gave her apology even before the issue grew big. "From the start, we apologized," she insisted.

Then, she continued by questioning the first violation she committed on the show's January 4 episode. The incident involved her and resident judge Vice Ganda, who told her, "Pagkatapos mong makipaghiwalay, hinete agad ang pinalit mo."

Rosanna explained to PEP, "'Yong 'demonyo' nga sa kanila, e, kinagalit...

With regard to her second violation, where she made a comment about teachers, after one of the Showtime's contestant failed to answer her question about Jose Rizal's full name (CLICK HERE to read related article), Rosanna's long explanation was, "E, totoo naman.

Pero kapag nagkaroon ka ng awakening, which is this time na we need this paradigm shift or shift sa awareness, dina-dumb tayo talaga, dina-dumb down ang society. Hindi nila sinasabi ang lahat. When you find out you're being lied to all your life, magiging reaction mo diyan, tulad ng reaction ko, parang niloko ka ng state, niloko ka ng eskuwelahan, niloko ka ng church, niloko ka ng magulang mo."

She also repeated her previous statement where she said, "Kahit ano puwede kong sabihin, kahit sa president, mali o tama.

ON PUBLIC APOLOGY. Like what she said earlier, Rosanna is grateful that despite what happened, the Kapamilya network still gave her a chance to air her side and to apologize.
