Two GMA-7 telefantasyas are currently in a tight battle for primetime leadership—Darna and The Last Prince.
The Last Prince, starring the tandem of Aljur Abrenica and Kris Bernal, managed to slip past Darna last Friday, January 29, with a very slim lead: 29.9 percent versus 29.7 percent. But Darna, topbilled by Marian Rivera, quicky regained the lead on February 1, by posting a 34.7 percent rating against The Last Prince's 32.3 percent.
The battle in the primetime race was actually so tight that only a few points separated the shows. ABS-CBN dramas May Bukas Pa and Kung Tayong Dalawa consistently held the third and fourth spots, respectively, Friday and Monday. GMA-7's Full House and 24 Oras, meanwhile, took turns in occupying the fifth slot.
ABS-CBN's newest primetime soap Habang May Buhay, starring Judy Ann Santos, premiered last night with an impressive 28.1 percent to take the 8th spot overall.
The country's longest-running noontime show, Eat Bulaga!, still rules the daytime race, grabbing the top spot Friday, Saturday, and Monday.
Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho was the top primetime show Saturday, while ABS-CBN's ASAP XV and Pinoy Big Brother Double Up were the leaders last Sunday, Jan. 31.
