"Star Cinema has decided to pull Angel out of the project dahil mag-i-start na siya sa mga dance rehearsals of her movie with Aga [Muhlach]. She also needs preparations for her series with John Lloyd [Cruz], madugo pareho ang roles niya in both projects," explains talent manager Ethel Ramos about their decision to pull out Angel Locsin from Kokey@Ako.

In a previous interview with Angel Locsin, she wasn't able to give a definite answer as to when she would start taping for Kokey@Ako, ABS-CBN's sequel to its 2007 hit fantaserye Kokey.
The actress cluelessly told the media, "Ako, naghihintay ng schedule. Naghihintay lang ako kung ano ang desisyon nila." (CLICK HERE to read related article.)
It can be recalled that the teaser of Kokey@Ako had been aired by ABS-CBN several times. In the said teaser, Angel is seen with the other stars of the show, including comedian-dancer Vhong Navarro and child actor Bugoy Cariño.
However, PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) learned recently that Angel was pulled out from Kokey@Ako to start working on another teleserye with Kapamilya leading man John Lloyd Cruz.
This was confirmed by Angel's new talent manager, veteran entertainment columnist Ethel Ramos, when PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) inquired about it this morning, March 16. Manay Ethel also handles the career of premier actor Aga Muhlach, with whom Angel is also set to do a movie.
In a text message, Manay Ethel told PEP: "The agreement to have her star in Kokey was decided before I became her talent manager. At ayon sa kanya [Angel], they were supposed to start taping for the series [last] December hanggang February. When I took over as her talent manager, Angge and Alou, two people behind the project, kept in touch with me, asking me to free some particular dates for her schedule in Kokey.
"[Hindi ko alam] kung ano ang naging problema. Her supposed taping dates for Kokey never materialized. Until I learned from June Rufino, talent manager ni Wenn Deramas, who is assigned to direct Kokey, na wala na sa series si Angel. It turned out that Star Cinema has decided to pull Angel out of the project dahil mag-i-start na siya sa mga dance rehearsals of her movie with Aga [Muhlach]. She also needs preparations for her series with John Lloyd, madugo pareho ang roles niya in both projects."
Angel has been replaced by Toni Gonzaga. Also part of Kokey@Ako are Pinoy Big Brother Double Up real-life sweethearts Melai Cantiveros and Jason Francisco.
