StarStruck V Second Prince Rocco Nacino got an early birthday gift when he bagged the role he auditioned for in the GMA-7 afternoon drama series Gumapang Ka Sa Lusak.
This was confirmed by Rocco himself through a text message sent to PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) earlier tonight, March 20. Rocco, who will be celebrating his 23rd birthday tomorrow (March 21), was with his fellow StarStruck V co-survivors for a mall show in Bacolod.
According to Rocco, he already taped his first scene for Gumapang Ka Sa Lusak last night, March 19. Jennylyn Mercado and Dennis Trillo are the lead stars of this Kapuso soap being directed by Maryo J. de los Reyes.
When asked to describe his role in the soap, Rocco replied: "It's complicated... Parang ka-love triangle nila Jen and Dennis po."
We later found out that Rocco will be playing the role of Jay-R, the son of Michael Sandico (as Ricardo) who will help the character of Jennylyn (as Rachel).
In a previous interview with PEP, Rocco mentioned auditioning for that particular role together with StarStruck V Ultimate Male Survivor Steven Silva and First Prince Enzo Pineda. (CLICK HERE to read related story.)
"I'm really happy but pressured for the show. I hope I can deliver," said Rocco.
Aside from Gumapang Ka Sa Lusak, he will also be regularly seen in the new GMA-7 musical-variety show Party Pilipinas, which will premiere on March 28.
