American R&B singer-songwriter Jojo arrived in Manila at 8:30 a.m. today, March 24.
The 19-year-old singer and performer was supposed to arrive at 5:50 a.m. but her plane had to make a stopover in Guam to refuel, wrote Jad Deveza, All Youth Channels Inc. Press Communications Executive, to PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) by e-mail.
Jojo is scheduled to perform on March 27 at the SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds, Pasay City. She will be joined by Grammy award-winning record producer and rapper Timbaland and pop superstar Justin Timberlake. The concert is titled Changing Lives: Shock Value II Tour.
The big concert will benefit orphans who lost their families and the young musicians who lost their instruments due to the strong typhoons that hit the country last year.
Jad Deveza described Jojo as "super nice" and "very friendly especially to the fans that would approach her" at the airport.
Jojo looked very thrilled to be here in the country, though she candidly confessed getting a bit shocked with the hot weather.
"She's very eager to experience the Philippines, she said that she made a little research and found out that we have 7,000 islands and she said that means there are a lot to see here and she's looking forward to experiencing the most of it during her stay here," Deveza told PEP.
With three solo albums under her belt—Jojo (2004), The High Road (2006), and All I Want is Everything (2010)—the Billboard Music Awards nominated singer is responsible for the hits "Leave (Get Out)," "Baby It's You," "Not That Kinda Girl," "Too Little Too Late," and "Beautiful Girls Reply" in answer to Sean Kingston's international hit single, "Beautiful Girl."
Jojo collaborated with Timbaland in the songs "Lose Control" and "Timothy Where You Been."
