Paolo Bediones says he and his former girlfriend Abigail Cruz have move on.

"Naka-move on na kaming dalawa.  But, you know, we still text once in a while," said the host of TV5's weekend show U.S.I. during the network's presentation of its newly revamped news and public affairs programs yesterday, March 30, at the Tangerine Restaurant in Greenhills, San Juan. 

It's been more than seven months since Paolo and Abby officially ended their romantic relationship. But, up to now, the former Survivor host remains unattached. Reason: No time for romance.

"I have so much work to do," said Paolo, who's not only the face of U.S.I. but also one of the anchors of TV5's weeknight newscast Aksyon.

He explained, "Right now, wala [akong girlfriend].  Isipin mo 'to, ang newscast namin 9:00 p.m., anong oras naman kami makakauwi, 11:00 p.m.  Paano naman kami makakapag-date no'n, umaga?  Morning date?  'Tapos on weekends naman nasa labas ako, covering U.S.I., so medyo mahirap din.

"I just wanna be really good at what I'm doing now.  Gusto kong mag-practice, gusto kong galingan ang ginagawa ko talaga para mabigyan ng justice ang pagkuha sa akin ng TV5 sa role na masasabing pinakamalaking role ko sa career ko," said the 36-year-old TV personality.

SHAWN "OUT OF THE BLUE." During the press conference, an entertainment columnist told Paolo that one of the hosts of TV5's morning show Sapul, Shawn Young, looked like his ex-girlfriend Abby. 

The TV host just laughed. "Alam mo, very tricky ang mga ganyang tanong because I am part of the management na ng TV5.  She's considered as a talent. Bawal 'yan.  On a lighter note, may boyfriend 'yan."

Shawn Young will join Erwin Tulfo, Lourd de Veyra, and Martin Andanar in Sapul. 

Paolo related how his team discovered Shawn. "We were looking for new talents, sino ba ang puwede dito.  Nag-a-ask kami ng mga tao na puwede.  Shawn just came out of the blue and when she sat down, 'Wow!' She has something.  Kasi naghahanap kami ng taong puwedeng makipagbalitaktakan, puwedeng sabayan sila Erwin, Lourd, Martin, testosterone 'yan, e.  So we got someone very lady-like yet kayang-kaya makipagsabayan."

And going back to the topic, Paolo reiterated that involvement with Shawn is impossible. He added in jest, "Focus tayo.  Pero hindi naman ibang level, I'm just saying na let's stick to the rule."
