<em></em>Sunshine Dizon explains decision to keep her wedding a secret

Sunshine Dizon's recent wedding to pilot Timothy Tan last March 20 has become the root of newer intrigues for the controversial actress. As reported, Sunshine and Timothy got married in secret and now fans of the actress and other interested parties would like to know why they kept it hush-hush.

 

To get the answer to this question and much more, Showbiz Central lined Sunshine in its  sights via the segment "Intriga Xfire" yesterday, April 4.

 

"Actually, hindi naman talaga namin binalak ilihim," started Sunshine. "Wala naman kasi kaming rason para ilihim ito, but I also did not find the reason para i-announce ito sa buong mundo, because as everybody knows, I am a very private person. And ever since, lalo na in regards with my relationship, I have always kept quiet. We decided that we wanted it to be a small thing and an intimate day with very few friends and family members."

 

Co-host Pia Guanio asked, "Was this a sudden decision?"

 

"I would not say that it was sudden kasi it was in the plan na din talaga," Sunshine replied. "It was my husband Tim who asked my mom if it was okay kung eventually if we could settle down and so, at first, we went to church to get blessed. Sa amin, since the priest is a good friend of ours, he prayed and blessed us na sana it will continue on and end up being married. And iyon nga ang nangyari."

 

When's the honeymoon?

 

Sunshine laughed and admitted, "Walang honeymoon! Siguro iyong honeymoon stage naman kung saan ka pupunta or whatever. Honeymoon can be every day as long as you are happy."

 

If there isn't going to be a honeymoon, will there be a post-wedding party for friends and co-workers?

"Iyong unang plano nga, e, sampung tao lang darating!" laughed Sunshine. "Tapos I told my mom na nakakahiya mag-catering kasi nga kaunti lang. Sa engrande na church wedding, I am just waiting for my dad to come home kasi he is in L.A. Kung papalarin, hopefully December this year. Kung hindi naman, next year."

 

WHO IS TIMOTHY TAN? The wedding of Sunshine and Timothy may have been a secret, but the real mystery was, who was the groom? Who is Timothy Tan?

 

"I first met him through friends in Pampanga," said Sunshine. "That was the time when we were having an event in Angeles and my friends were selling tickets. Tapos binentahan namin siya ng ticket and he was with other friends. Actually, hindi ko siya type noong una dahil feeling ko may dating. Feeling ko, 'Guwapo ito, matangkad, piloto. Babaero ito, feeling ko!'

 

"Tapos nagulat na lang kami na every time we go out, palagi siya sumasama. This was about November last year. Lahat talaga [ng negative traits] pinakita ko sa kanya. It even came to a point when he told my mom noong naging kami na nga na, 'Alam mo, Mommy, kaunti na lang malapit na ako mag-give up sa kanya.'"

 

But Sunshine reflected that it was God's way of telling her that Timothy was the right man for her.

 

"Sometimes when you enter a relationship, madalas nabubulagan ka. But this time around, I gave it real time," she added. "I considered everything and ang pinakamagandang sign, e, is when my father came home last January and he [Timothy] was the first guy that my whole family in the Dizon side met. First day my family met him, e, everyone loved him agad."

 

There had been reports that Timothy already has a child from a recent relationship. Is this true?

 

"That is true, we are not denying it," said Sunshine. "I would also like to clear the reports from lumalabas na balita na parang he is an irresponsible father. When Tim and I got married, he never lied to me. He told me everything about the kid and I think he is a very responsible father."

 

Concerning rumors that her husband is not a bona fide pilot, she said, "My husband is a first officer for an airline. I cannot say kung saan airline. Right now he is on break and he is planning to upgrade his rating so he can fly internationally na rin. He graduated cum laude."

 

NO APPROVAL? There have been rumors that Sunshine's mom did not approve of Timothy and that she did not attend the wedding.

 

"They are very, very close," rebutted Sunshine with a smile. "Minsan naiinis na ako kasi feeling ko kinakampihan siya ng mommy ko!"

 

Addressing a message to her husband, Sunshine said with affection, "Totoo pala sinasabi ng magulang natin na parang daw iyong bagyo na hindi mo kailangan hintayin, hindi mo din kailangan hanapin. Bigla lang 'yan darating. Hindi mo alam kung sino, papaano, at kailan. There is a saying, 'The heart has reasons that reason cannot understand.'
