Gloria Diaz reveals she will vote for Sen. Manny Villar this coming election. "Yes, I will go for Villar. I just think that if he could make his business a success, he could also make our country a success," she said.

Former Miss Universe Gloria Diaz thinks all is not over for Maria Venus Raj, the winner of this year's Bb. Pilipinas-Universe crown who was dethroned recently due to a faulty birth certificate. (CLICK HERE to read related story.)

Dethronement may just be the opportunity that Maria Venus needs, says the actress and former beauty queen.

"Maybe this has given her more air time, more exposure. Maybe it's a blessing in a certain way," Gloria told PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) in an interview during the press conference for senatorial candidate Gilbert Remulla yesterday, April 6, at Annabel's Restaurant in Quezon City.

Bb. Pilipinas Charities, Inc. (BPCI) had decided to take back the Bb. Pilipinas-Universe crown from Maria Venus Raj because of inconsistencies in the details of her birth record. She only won the title last March 6, 2010, and she is still very much determined to fight for the title. (CLICK HERE to read related story)

Gloria said that the possibility of being dethroned is one of the things that one should expect when one signs a contract with BPCI.

"First and foremost, you sign a contract, e. They have the right to dethrone you, to stop you from being crowned or uncrowned, and everything. I think she [Venus] must realize that they have the last say. Ganun sila, e. So you enter into a contract with an organization, they have the last say," she said.

Gloria cited her own experience as an example that a beauty queen title holder must abide by the details of the contract.

"Nung tumaba ako ng tatlong pounds they [Ms. Universe] threatened me that I have to lose the three pounds. I thought, 'Why? What do I care? I wanna be fat or whatever.' Hindi pa naman uso noon yung payat na payat. But because I had signed a contract for fitness, morality, etc... I always had a chaperone then. Twenty-four hours 'yan. I mean, hindi ako puwedeng mag-boyfriend and all that."

Gloria said other avenues, like show business, are still open for Maria Venus. "It's not the end of the world," she said.

BEAUTY TIPS. PEP praised Ms. Gloria Diaz for her lasting beauty, even at an older age.

She humbly accepted the admiration. "Am I? Hindi, e. I'm slowly disintegrating, e," she said.

The beauty queen said she just tries "harder" to maintain her good looks. "I think when you grow older, you just try harder and then of course you do conservative things. 'Wag kang uminom, 'wag kang magsugal, 'wag kang magpuyat. I try to eat less."

She said she even takes little naps while in a taping for her role in Diva, four days a week. "So pag nasa shooting ako, nagbabaon nga ako ng tulog. You know what I mean? Pag wala akong ginagawa, tulog muna. Kaya lagi ako nagbu-beauty rest."

glad i took the courage to criticize and analyze the mal-functions of this BPCI, look what ive got here..
brainy pepsters, far way ahead of BPCI`s board members! The responsibility of Screening Applicants and maximum Efficiency thereat is the question here!

Why blame on the declared winner? Who were the screeners and the selected judges in the first place? Araneta cant be true!!

In short: If declared Winner, it must be Irrevocable.
    Period!

Or.... BPCI must convert its functin into Banana Beauty Institution. Joke Lang pala ang BPCI Araneta
    Gang! hahhaahaha

Anone can disagree with Gloria Diaz but remember, she is the one with THE Miss Universe Crown.

Don't blame others for her wrong doing. Alam nyang nagsisinungaling sya.

I completely agree.

yes, BCPI has the right to dethrone any winning candidate but I think it's about time to teach the people behind the organization to be more responsible in screening of candidates.

We tend to deviate from the issue. It is a simple issue of manipulating information. I feel we have to be honest and things are obvious in this case. Miss Raj is capable of manufacturing lies. Anu ba? Do we want to be represented by this kind of person?

As far as the constitutions says...you are a FILIPINO if your mother AND/OR father is born Filipino. AND/OR...kaya kahit saan ka pinanganak basta ba isa sa mga magulang mo ay Filipino...TAPOS! yon ang nakasaad sa Contitution natin. Kaya walang ibang dahilan ang Bb. Pilipinas kundi may ibang issue dito. Ms. Raj GO ON!!! Ipaglaban mo ang dapat sayo! GOD BLESS YOU

tamang tanungin bakit hindi nakita ng BPCI yung issue bago pinasali si raj. pero sa isang banda, questionable din si raj kung bakit nagsubmit ng inconsistent documents upon applying gayung alam naman nila ang citizenship req's. parang there is the intent to commit fraud. they were counting siguro na di mapuna ng BPCI. encouraging answers lang naman ang kay ms. g. at this time, dahil requirement yung filipino citizenship, wala talagang laban si raj.

Nge. Contract nga, tapos nagpakahirap yung tao para manalo? Tapos tsaka palang nung nakoronahan na tsaka nila sasabihin na may inconsistency?
KAINIS lang to. Pati tong taong to ngkokoment pa.

Just to add:Gloria your explaination is about your responsibilities after your crowned as BPCI so and so. The question is why BPCI let VENUS RAJ join the coronation night and be part of the finalist if her information have inconsistency? Hindi naman ata tama na saka lang nag inbestiga ang BPCI after the event di ba. That means BPCI had a bad intention for all the candidates. BPCI said okey lang yan let them join then if we see something will just DETHRONE them. Ganon lang.

I agree with you SILLYGIRL. BPCI what happened to your screening committee? I just watched SNNABSCBNyou send a explaination about this situation. For VENUS RAJ I can say that joining BPCI is a BIG MISTAKE.

Sorry Gloria, as much as I like you I have to disagree with you on this one. Granting there is a contract, BPCI has its responsibilites. Having blown it a few times in the past, they should know to thoroughly screen all contestants with a fine tooth comb. This is simple and matter of fact. Parang nag-a-apply yan ng trabaho - you do thorough background check before you hire the applicant. That's a no brainer, which I think it the source of the problem. People in BPCI have no brain - they're a bunch of airheads. Ang nakakagalit dito - BPCI does not own up or take responsibility for this mess.

Same fault done by the BPCI, first runner up is only 17 years old. like venus, bpci knew that she was 17 years old and yet, up to the end they let her joined, let her won the first runner up.

Sila may kasalanan ung pageant organizers because they should hav assured that everyone is legit filipino at the very first start diba. Para walang scandals after eh. Kahihiyan yon laging may ganyan ganito.

Ganun? Hahahahahahahaha

this is all the fault of bpci. if they have checked all her records right from the start this issue would have been avoided. as venus said, she was interviewed more than once, asked the same question. But as it is now, i dont think she can represent the country to the miss universe pageant as they might have heard of this unprofessional act made by bpci. It is useless to give it back to her anyway, hindi na siya tatanggapin sa miss universe pageant.
