Who wouldn't know Sef Cadayona by now? He's that guy from the commercials on TV who gets a bad haircut, a chewed burger, and a dance lesson from a club bouncer, all because of 20 pesos.

"Sobrang saya ko po kasi ang daming nakaka-appreciate ng commercial," Sef told PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) last April 16, during the meet-and-greet session of StarStruck V final 14 contestants and the editors from Summit Media. "Ang sarap ng experience na yung commercial ko nagiging trend at nagiging language na, kaya okay."

Sef said the ice cream commercial was released even before he joined StarStruck, where he finished in 11th place. "Pagkatapos ng StarStruck, lalong naging peak kasi lumalabas nang lumalabas nang lumalabas. So, talagang blessed ako sa exposure."

The ad has made the 21-year-old actor a household name. "Alam mo nakakatawa kasi kung hindi nila ako kilala as Sef, sasabihin nila, 'Uy si Tugs tugs! Si Tugs tugs!' Ang sarap ng feeling na nagsisimula ka pa lang, kilala ka na nila.

"Yung mga bata sa kalye, na hindi mo inaakala, sabi nila, 'Kuya, kayo po ba yung sa commercial?' Talagang sabi ko, 'Wow. Hanggang dito ba umaabot ako? Halika nga dito.' Kaya sobrang saya."

NO REAL RIVALRY. Aside from the TV commercial, Sef also has a recurring role in the GMA-7 primetime kantaserye Diva. He plays Mark Herras's rival in a dance contest.

Sef, who learned dance techniques in Korea, thanks Mark for guiding him in the biz. He says the rivalry shown in Diva does not happen in real life.

"Sobrang blessed ko kasi bihira ako makatrabaho ng artistang sobrang bait. 'Saka tinuturuan niya ako kasi bago pa lang ako sa industry kaya tinuturuan niya ako. Ina-idolize ko talaga siya. Kasi first batch pa lang [ng StarStruck], yun talaga yung una kong pinanood, e. So bale, sa kanya ako nag-look up to, kaya ako sumali ng StarStruck."

The Bad Boy of the Dance Floor can actually be a kind friend, Sef adds. "Kasi yun nga yung pinaka-okay, e. Mabait siya. Hindi mo siya ine-expect na, parang, 'Ay, kalog pala 'to.'"

Mark is reportedly courting Ynna Assistio, his screen partner in Diva. Is Sef a threat to this budding relationship?

"Uy, wala," Sef answers instantly. "'Wag naman 'yon. Hindi puwede 'yon. In terms of mga chicks, may iba kasi kaming gusto, e."

NO GIRLFRIEND. Sef's hectic schedule prevents him from going into a steady relationship.

"Two years na akong single. Kasi siyempre, una, nag-focus ako sa commercial. Kung hindi ako siguro nag-focus sa commercial, hindi ko magagawa yung commercial ko. And then dumating yung StarStruck na tuloy-tuloy," he says.

PEP joked that Sef may not have a girlfriend because he only has 20 pesos in his pocket, not enough to take a girl out for a date. Sef laughed and answered, "I mean, I date pero yung in terms of relationship, talagang single. Work lang."
