Muling nabuhay ang pagdududa tungkol sa sexual preference ng American singer na si David Archuleta. Nakita kasi siya noong Sabado, April 17, sa Club 57, isang trendy gay bar sa New York City.

Mabilis na nagpaliwanag si David sa pamamagitan ng kanyang Twitter account. Ayon sa American Idol Season 7 runner-up, nagpunta siya sa Club 57 dahil sa imbitasyon ng kanyang kaibigan, ang young Filipina singer na si Charice.

"Last night in New York I got invited to go and see my friend Charice perform. Mental note to self: always ask where before you go! Wasn't my kind of place lol, and I had no clue! I guess you live and learn. The upside was that Charice was awesome, and she has an incredible voice.

"Hope that clears things up!

"Been seeing some of the tweets.. sheesh!"

Ang Twitter din ang ginamit ni Charice sa apology nito kay David. Hiyang-hiya si Charice kay David dahil nasangkot ito sa isang kontrobersya. Ipinaliwanag ni Charice na nagpunta si David sa Club 57 bilang suporta sa kanya dahil magkaibigan sila.

Ayon kay Charice, "Before i go to my interviews, i just want to clear up some things, about the Saturday night. David went to see me there perform as a friend. I am really thankful to have a great friend like David...thank you for the support.

"One more thing, i just got invited there because Pyramid is no.7 on Billboard dance remix and i really had to go there to promote it. But bottomline, David just showed his support for me. and i wanna thank him."

Tinanggap agad ni David ang apology ni Charice. Pinasalamatan niya ang kapwa singer at nag-apologize din siya.

"Aw haha thanks Charice! Sorry for causing any problems, I know you didn't mean to cause any confusion :)

"I have nothing against anyone, I'm sorry if that's how it came across. I'm just not into the partying scene lol. I have friends who are gay, and they're great people. Whether they're gay or not doesn't change how I think of them. 

"Charice is great and she didn't mean to do cause any harm haha. She apologized a lot after. She's way nice lol," sabi ng 19-year-old singer sa kanyang Twitter account.

UNDERAGE. Hindi lamang ang pagpunta ni David sa gay bar ang pinuna ng U.S. press. May mga bumabatikos din sa mga nagpapatakbo sa career ni Charice dahil pinayagan ito na mag-perform sa isang gay bar, kahit 17 years old pa lamang siya.

Mahigpit na ipinagbabawal sa U.S. ang pagpapapasok ng mga menor de edad sa mga bar.

Naka-post na sa YouTube ang clip ng performance ni Charice sa Club 57. Kinanta niya ang remix version ng "Pyramid" at ang "I Will Survive." Habang kumakanta si Charice, makikita sa background ang mga shirtless gay customers ng bar at dalawang lalake na magkayakap.
