It's only less than two weeks before the national elections, so TV host-actress Kris Aquino took a leave of absence from the ABS-CBN primetime drama series Kung Tayo'y Magkakalayo  to campaign for her brother, presidential candidate Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III.

Kris's absence on the set, according to co-star Kim Chiu, feels unusual.

"Siyempre, nakakalungkot kasi si Ms. Kris ang nakakatsikahan ko, nakakakuwentuhan namin, bonding-bonding lang. Parang ang saya lang sa set. Ang jolly-jolly niya. Ngayon, sa set namin, wala siya, walang nagpapa-inspire, nakakapanibago," said Kim in an interview at the press launch of Star Records' Supahdance 2 album last night, April 27, at the Eivissa Super Club on Tomas Morato, Quezon City.

Although Kris is not taping for Kung Tayo'y Magkakalayo at the moment, Kim says her co-star never fails to send a text message to the staff every day.

"Kasi, parang siya lang ang pampabuhay sa set namin, e," Kim explained. "Siya lang ang salita nang salita and parang ang saya-saya namin kapag nandoon siya. Parang kapag nasa set kami ngayon, 'yong isang kuwarto empty, walang tao, walang mga gamit. So, parang nakaka-miss."

But what can she say about people who say that Kris does nothing to help boost Kung Tayo'y Magkakalayo's ratings?

"Hindi naman totoo 'yon," defended Kim. "E, di sana hindi na kami napapanood ng mga tao. Mali naman kasi 'yon. Magaling kaya si Ms. Kris."

ON BEING PART OF THE SUPAHDANCE CREW. Kim was  introduced last night as the latest only girl member of the Supahdance Crew. She will now join John Prats, Rayver Cruz, Mickey Perz, and Gab Valenciano in their regular dance production on ASAP XV every Sunday.

Kim said it was a dream come true for her to be part of the group. 

"Dati pangarap ko lang itong mapasama sa kanila. Dati, noong nag-audition ako sa [Pinoy Big Brother], pinapanood ko sila Maja [Salvador], John Prats, si Gab. Si Mickey wala pa dati noon, pero ang galing niyang sumayaw. So, ngayong binigyan ako ng ASAP ng chance na mapasama sa kanila at sa album na ito, sobrang thankful ako, hindi ako makapaniwala."

Kim was also asked about the non-inclusion of her constant onscreen partner and rumored boyfriend Gerald Anderson in the Supahdance crew.

"Siyempre, malungkot, nakakapanibago kasi hindi ko siya kasama. Pero masaya rin ako kasi apat na boys ang kasama ko, ang galing pang sumayaw, so okay na 'to," she said.

GERALD ANDERSON-SAM PINTO ISSUE. In the recently concluded Your Song Presents Isla, Gerald was paired with former PBB Double Up housemate Sam Pinto. During the show, Sam admitted that she has a crush on Gerald. Did Kim get jealous?

"Wala naman," she replied. "Kasi hindi rin naman totoo 'yon. Hindi rin naman sila nagkikita. Atsaka taping lang nila ng Isla 'yon, e."

It was also reported that when Gerald was paired with Sam, Kimerald fans reacted violently towards the former PBB housemate.
