Pilipinas Got Talent finalist Jovit Baldovino, who became popular for his powerful voice, is hoping to clarify that there's no problem between him and Batangas Governor Vilma Santos.

There's no need for Vilma's fans to crucify him, the aspiring singer said. Jovit, who sold siomai before joining the ABS-CBN talent show, lives in Batangas.

"Hindi po ako naniniwalang galit po ang mga Vilmanians sa akin dahil iisa lang po ang taong nagsasalita ng tungkol sa mga nangyayaring 'yon. Pero alam ko, susuportahan po ako ng Vilmanians," Jovit told the entertainment press yesterday afternoon, June 9, during the show's press conference at Dolphy Theater in ABS-CBN, Quezon City.

According to rumors in tabloids and other entertainment websites, Jovit snubbed one of Vilma's sorties in Batangas. Alleging that the newcomer had become air-headed, rumor had it that Jovit chose to perform at a sortie of Vilma's political rival, in spite Vilma's personal endorsement for Jovit to win the contest.

The stories allegedly mobilized Vilmanians, loyal fans of the award-winning actress, to not vote for Jovit to win the title of the reality show, which will take place on Saturday and Sunday, June 12 and 13, at the Araneta Coliseum.

Jovit said he wants to say sorry if he ever did wrong. "Kung may galit kayo sa akin, pasensiya na lang. Sana iboto niyo pa rin ako sa grand finals," he said.

DETRACTORS. Jovit strongly voiced out his reaction to another rumor—that he's actually not poor.

"Hindi po tunay ang balitang 'yon. Katunayan nga po, e, puwede po kayong pumunta sa amin. Tingnan niyo po yung katayuan namin sa amin sa bukid," he said.

In fact, Jovit added, his parents are jobless; they only subsist on  Jovit's earnings from his newfound fame.

"Hindi na po ako nagtitinda ng siomai, he said. "Yung pagkanta na lang po. Kasi po bawat imbita nila sa akin, pumupunta po ako kasi yun lang po ang kailangan namin e. Nagkakapera din po ako kung kumakanta ako."

Continuing with his defense, Jovit said, "Sa mga naninira sa akin, siguraduhin niyo lang yung sinasabi niyo."

Jovit is kinder to his supporters. "Sana po patuloy niyo po akong suportahan. 'Wag niyo po akong pabayaan sa darating pong grand finals dahil kayo po ang tagumpay ko," he said.

The grand finals of Pilipinas Got Talent will be held on June 12, Saturday, at the Araneta Coliseum. The winner will be announced the following night, June 13, also at the Big Dome.
