Comedienne and Wowowee mainstay Pokwang became emotional during a recent interview with ABS-CBN's evening showbiz talk show, Showbiz News Ngayon (SNN).
Pokwang was teary-eyed while recalling action star Robin Padilla's two-week stint as Wowowee host. Padilla temporarily assumed the role following original host Willie Revillame's decision to take an indefinite leave of absence.
"Kasi sa kanya namin naramdaman na babae pala kami. Sa kanya namin naranasan 'yong kalayaan para i-express kung ano yong ginagawa namin sa trabaho. 'Saka very vocal siya sa amin kung ano 'yong nararamdaman din niya. Kaya sobrang nami-miss namin siya," Pokwang said about Robin.
The comedienne acknowledged Robin's well-known trait especially when it comes to women: "Kasi siguro mami-miss namin 'yong tratong binigay niya sa amin, 'yong respetong ibinigay niya sa amin."
ON MARIEL-ROBIN RUMOR. The interview brought to mind the touching scene witnessed by the viewers last May 28, where the female co-hosts of Wowowee all shed tears as Robin concluded his hosting duties.
Robin said in an interview with ABS-CBN entertainment reporter Mario Dumaual that he was leaving the program with a heavy heart.
"Naiipit po tayo. Gusto ko man mag-tuluy-tuloy, gustuhin ko man maging permanente ito, pero ayaw na ayaw ko pong may nasasagasaan, e... Kay Ka Willie [Revillame] ito, e," said Robin.
But he also cited another reason: Mariel Rodriguez.
"Isa pang malungkot 'yon na pangyayari, dahil talagang ako'y... napakaganda ng [mga] mata ni Mariel," revealed the action star.
The 25-year-old Mariel, while admittedly flattered by the remark, denied that there's anything romantic going on between her and Robin. She also dismissed the rumor that her recent breakup with boyfriend Zanjoe Marudo had something to do with Robin.
Pokwang made an intriguing insider comment, however, about the issue.
"Sinasabihan ko nga si Mariel, 'Ikaw 'yong mga mata mo, akala mo hindi ko nababasa tumi-twinkle twinkle.' At ito pa ang isang rebelasyon: Hindi ko alam ang phone number ni Robin, pero si Mariel magka-text sila. Unfair!" she told SNN.
Siguro nga napapagalitan sila on/off cam ni Willie pero siguro may rason para sila pagalitan. Di nila ipagpasalamat na lang kung itinutuwid sila ni Willie para sa ikagaganda ng show.
Pokwang is a good person. Being a comedienne, she may not be serious about what she said as her reply to the interview. Nonetheless, she is right because ROBIN IDOL PADILLA has shown the viewing public the true examples of how to RESPECT the hosts, staff, guests, audience and contestants of Wowowee.
I hope IDOL comes back to host Wowowee again.

I don't think it's SUPER GIMIK ang tambalang Robin-Mariel dahil may gagawing sitcom, I heard from the grapevine that the sitcom is what ABS' response to a lot of growing Robin-Mariel supporters and to wiewers who are requesting for Robin to go back to WOwowee, but since it's not possible becoz Wowowee is Willie's show, they decided to do a sitcom pairing them together. I think it's really wise to do so since meron naman silang chemistry at kilig factor.
Willie Revillame is like a DICTATOR who is addicted to POWER and his MONEY. Kung kaya niyang diktahan ang management what more sa kanyang co-host and other staff of Wowowee.
Willie is sound and act like a powerful DICTATOR when he asked the ABS management to sack Jobert Sucaldito for expressing his own opinion. I believe that every dictator is an enemy of freedom, an opponent of law. Each dictator suppressed free speach except his own.
I just wanted to make clear that we are just exchanging our opinion.
Narealize ko na wala pala sa article na to, yung question ni Boy Abunda na yon, kaya ang dating tuloy sinabi lang ni Pokwang yon para patamaan si Willie, pero para sakin, sinagot at sinabi lang nya nararamdaman nya at kung me tatamaan, ibig sabihin guilty ka.
Ano magagawa nyo eh sa iyon ang damdamin ng tao??!!
Hinangaan ko si Pokwang sa kanyang talento, pero nitong mga nakalipas na araw parang may mga galaw siyang hindi kanais-nais. Sana naman ay hindi siya magaya sa mga ibang comedian na biglang taas at biglang bulusok.
