When Kung Tayo'y Magkakalayo concluded earlier this month, many thought that the popular team-up of Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson would end, too.
But Kim said her communication with constant onscreen partner never stopped even though they don't have another movie or TV project yet.
"Magkakasama naman kami sa mga out-of-town shows, out-of-the-country shows, at mga commercial," said the 20-year-old actress at the media junket prepared for her new Cherry Mobile endorsement last Saturday, July 17, at Annabel's Restaurant in Tomas Morato, Quezon City.
Kim added, "Siguro kasi tapos na ang Kung Tayo'y Magkakalayo hindi na nila kami nakikitang magkasama."
Since they got out from Pinoy Big Brother's house in 2006, former housemate Gerald has always been partnered with the former Teen Big Winner. Will there be a problem when their careers go separate ways and they'll be paired with other actors?
Kim said she has no problem with this idea. She explained, "Open naman po kami sa gano'n kasi trabaho pa rin 'yon. Sana suportahan pa rin kami ng mga Kimerald fans kung anuman ang projects. Open naman kami pero hindi pa napag-uusapan."
Kim and Gerald are not only a successful team-up, they're also known for having a solid fan base popularly called Kimerald. When a report came out that Gerald would be paired with Sarah Geronimo, the Kimerald fans became very aggressive in airing their views about it.
Will this group be open also when Kim and Gerald get another partner?
"Ang Kimerald, sobrang supportive sa amin. Kahit ano'ng mangyari, nandiyan sila, e, pinagtatanggol nila kami, pinaglalaban nila kami. Sobrang lucky kami to have them," said Kim.
She also mentioned that whenever she has the chance, she would explain this to their supporters. Kim related, "Sinasabi namin, 'Sorry ha, hindi namin kontrolado kung ano...' Pero hindi naman silang lahat. Siguro, isa lang sa mga fan siguro o dalawa lang. Hindi naman lahat."
IS ENCHONG DEE COURTING HER? It was reported recently that fellow Kapamilya actor Enchong Dee was trying to woo her.
Kim laughed when she heard this and she jested, "Pinagpawisan ako doon, teka lang!"
Then, she clarified, "Magkaibigan lang talaga kami nina Enchong. Sumasama siya sa amin minsan kapag lumalabas kami nina Melissa [Ricks]. Hanggang doon lang naman 'yon."
When the press asked her again if Enchong is courting her, Kim smiled, "Naku, no, magagalit si Erich! Charing! Wala, joke lang. Hindi naman niya ako niyayang mag-date."
Towards the end of the interview, the young actress jokingly pleaded to the media, "Tigilan na lang natin 'yang Enchong na 'yan!"
