Nauna nang inilabas sa PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) na papalitan ng ABS-CBN ang pantanghaling programa ni Willie Revillame na Wowowee (CLICK HERE to read related article).
Pero imbes na back-to-back show nina Kris Aquino at Robin Padilla, gaya ng naunang naibalita ng PEP, kinumpirma ng ABS-CBN sa pamamagitan ng statement na pinadala nito sa PEP na magkakasama sa iisang show ang dalawang artista.
Heto ang official statement mula sa Kapamilya station:
"Ilulunsad na ng ABS-CBN ang isang bagong noontime show sa Sabado, July 31. Ito ay ang Pilipinas, Win Na Win!, na pagtatampukan nina Robin Padilla, Mariel Rodriguez, Valerie Concepcion, Pokwang, at Kris Aquino. Ang programa ay isang game-at-variety show na tiyak na magbibigay sigla at pag-asa sa mga Pilipino saan mang panig ng mundo.
"Ang Pilipinas, Win Na Win! ay papalit sa Wowowee. Si Willie Revillame, sa pamamagitan ng kanyang manager na si Arlene de Castro, ay nasabihan na tungkol sa pagbabagong ito. Napaalam na rin kay Willie ang programang pinaplano para sa kanya at ito raw ay ipapahayag ng network sa takdang panahon.
"Ang Pilipinas, Win Na Win! ay pamumunuan nina Direk Johnny Manahan, Creative Director Bobot Mortiz, Business Unit Head Jay Montelibano, Executive Producers Phoebe Anievas and Rancy Recato. Ito ay mapapanood pagkatapos ng Showtime."
Matatandaang nag-host ng isang linggo si Robin sa Wowowee at binigyan ng offer noon na maging permanenteng host ngunit tinanggihan ito ng aktor. (CLICK HERE to read related article.)
Kasama rin sa magiging co-host ay si Pokwang, na sa panayam nito kay Mario Dumaual ng TV Patrol ay naluha sa tuwa noong nalaman ang bagong balita.
"Kaya talaga ngang nagulat ako, na wala akong alam..." magkasamang iyak at ngiting pahayag ng komedyana. "Thank you. Nagpapasalamat naman po ako dahil alam ko at nararamdaman ko na...Salamat po."
Reaksiyon naman ni Kris na nagpadala ng mensahe mula sa Amerika, sinabi nito na masaya siya sa pagbabalik niya sa telebisyon at pati na rin ang oportunidad na makatrabaho sina Robin, Pokwang at iba pa sa Pilipinas, Win Na Win!
Na-retain din si Valerie Concepcion. At ayon sa manager nitong si Becky Aguila, malaking surpresa at blessing daw sa kanila ang bagong show.
Hindi naman nakapagbigay ng pahayag si Mariel dahil namamaga pa diumano ang lalamunan nito.
Nagpasalamat naman si Robin sa pamamagitan ng text message. Aniya, isang panibagong oportunidad na makapagpasaya at makapagbigay ng tulong sa mga kababayan as buong daigdig.
Wala pang nakukuhang reaksiyon mula sa dating host ng Wowowee na si Willie Revillame.
