Yesterday, July 29, PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) chanced upon Robin Padilla and Mariel Rodriguez talking closely in one of the dressing rooms of the set of Wowowee. The two were sitting side by side and appeared to be reading a book together.
When the two saw the entertainment press entering the dressing room to interview Robin, they quickly looked away from each other. But Mariel did not leave the room. She took one of the microphones from the press and also acted like a reporter.
"Reporter muna ako, para sa E-Live," Mariel said, referring to her Saturday showbiz talk show in ABS-CBN. And during the whole interview, Mariel had her sparkling eyes glued to Robin, the Bad Boy of Philippine Cinema.
Have Robin and Mariel grown this close that they now share interests? The book was about dream interpretation, perhaps Robin's way of assuaging the anxiety he feels over hosting ABS-CBN's new noontime show.
"Ang aking nararamdaman sa mga oras na ito ay umaasa sa mga dasal, umaasa sa mga paliwanag ng panaginip, dahil ako'y punong-puno ng kaba," Robin answered when asked how he feels.
Robin mentioned Mariel's name when asked how the new show will be different from Wowowee.
The press, therefore, couldn't help but ask: What is the real score between Robin and Mariel?
"Basta isa lang 'yon. Ako'y maligaya pag nandiyan siya. Ako'y nanliligaw pa rin sa panahon na ito," he said.
Robin and Mariel first became close when the action star was the guest host of Wowowee last May. An obvious chemistry developed between the two, to the point where Robin had to bring his whole family to Wowowee on his last day of guesting just to meet the TV host.
Robin stuttered when the press asked him, did he find it easier to accept Pilipinas Win na Win! when he learned that Mariel will be a co-host?
"Yun po ay isa sa mga... Kasi nabuo po ang programang ito, kasi..." said Robin, who later admitted he broke out in sweat when this question came up.
Changing gears, Robin said he's ready to sing duets with Mariel in Pilipinas Win na Win!, just not on its opening day.
But would a love triangle inevitably develop between Robin, Mariel, and co-host Kris Aquino? Robin and Kris shared a relationship in the past.
ON TONI GONZAGA. Speaking of the girls in Robin's life, the press also asked Robin about his movie with Toni Gonzaga, which was reportedly cancelled because of Robin's condition that his leading lady should be single. (CLICK HERE to read related story)
