Dalawang araw bago bumalik ng Pilipinas si Kris Aquino ay pumutok ang balita na buntis daw siya. Una na itong pinabulaanan ni Kris at ng kanyang managers na sina Boy Abunda at Deo Endrinal, dito sa PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) noong Miyerkules, July 28, sa pamamagitan ng text messages. Pero ipinalinaw pa rin ni Boy kay Kris ang isyung ito sa kanilang interview kahapon, July 30. Tanong ni Boy: Buntis ka nga ba?
"Ano ba, Boy! Dun ako naiinis talaga," sagot ni Kris. "May iPhone na ako, meron ako do'n na period tracker, okay? Naililista mo do'n, para alam mo kung kailan ka magkakaro'n. Why? Kasi pinaplano namin ang outfit ko depending on that. Dahil the last thing you want is on TV, matagusan ka, di ba? Sorry, talagang ganun ka-graphic ang sasabihin ko, baka ma-accuse pa nila ako na being sexually active!
"E, hello, parang seven months na kaming hiwalay ng kuwarto bago kami naghiwalay [ni James]! So, alam ko at nando'n, nakalista, July 18 I had my period while we were in Disneyworld, it ended when we arrived in Boston. So, tigilan n'yo na ako!"
Ano ang reaksiyon niya noong narinig niya ang balitang ito? Sino ang nagsabi sa kanya?
"Deo [her business manager]! At sinabi niya na, 'Buntis ka daw?' Sabi ko, 'Sino ang tatay?' Di ba? It's just... nakakabaliw na! Yung parang three weeks ka lang nawala, ang dami nang inimbento tungkol sa 'yo."
Aminado si Kris na nairita siya sa ganoong tsismis tungkol sa kanya.
"Yeah, kasi it's so untrue, and I won't do that," sabi niya. "Number one, to myself because I could die, because I have a pulmonary embolism, di ba? Delikado talaga sa akin magbuntis. Puwede akong mag-bleed to death. Pangalawa, hindi handa yung dalawang anak ko magkaroon ng kapatid. Sa pagka-possessive nung dalawa, baka kung anong gawin nila dun sa baby! Pangatlo, there's no man that I feel I would want a life with at this point. And lastly, bigyan ko naman ng kahihiyan ang pamilya ko."
NEW SHOW. In high spirits most of the time si Kris habang iniinterbyu ni Boy, pero naging emosyunal siya nang tanungin kung ano sa palagay niya ang sasabihin ng kanyang ina, si former President Cory, sa lahat ng mga nangyayari sa kanya ngayon kung buhay pa ito.
"Good luck about tomorrow [July 31]. Kasi alam niya that was what I love the most. And alam niya how much joy ang maibibigay ko sa mga tao. At alam niya na I am at a good place in my life, na mature enough ako na pahahalagahan ko talaga 'yan at aalagaan ko kasi napakalaking biyaya nito.
"But this is the first big show that I'll be launching na wala na ang mommy ko. She was my biggest fan, my biggest cheerleader. Nakabangon ako ng ilang beses dahil nando'n ang mom ko," naiiyak na sabi ni Kris.
Ang tinutukoy ni Kris ay ang bagong noontime show niya sa ABS-CBN, ang Pilipinas, Win Na Win!, na magsisimula na ngayong araw. Kasama niya rito sina Robin Padilla, Mariel Rodriguez, Valerie Concepcion at Pokwang. Pinalitan nito ang Wowowee ni Willie Revillame, na umere rin ng limang taon.
Marami ang nagtatanong, akala ba namin, e, si Kris hindi na babalik sa telebisyon?
"Wish lang nung mga nega!" natatawa niyang sabi. "Alam mo, Boy, don't put words into my mouth because I never said that. In the same way that kung anu-ano ang ina-accuse nila na pinagsasabi ko dati, na hindi ko naman nasabi.
"Ang sinabi ko po is that it's very difficult to be in a show where you give opinion, because whatever opinion I make will be a reflection on the President because he's my brother, kadugo ko siya, hindi mo maiiwasan 'yon. Pero I've always said that I would love to do a game show because yun naman, hindi kontrobersiyal," paglilinaw niya.
What does she look forward to sa bago niyang show?
"It's exciting!" bulalas niya. "Boy, nakakaadik ang palakpak. Nakakaadik ang hiyaw. Nakakaadik makakuwentuhan ang bawat tao... Puyat ka, pagod ka... kahit sa kampanya, dalawang oras lang natulog pero pag sinisigaw na, 'Kris! Kris!' buhay, energy! I'm so excited!
"I'm excited to have a game [show] again. I've missed having game. I've missed having contestants. And it's a challenge because I was in my comfort zone. Ikaw [Boy] lang ang nakatrabaho ko for ten years. O, di ba? May mga bago akong pakikisamahan at may mga bagong makikisama sa akin."
