She said, "Nagpapasalamat din ako kina Bea [Alonzo, Magkaribal co-actor], Tita Mariolle Alberto [Star Magic head], and to many of our common friends. Kasi siyempre, we have common friends from the business and walang nanggatong. Noong nagkakagulo kami ni Angelica, they would always say, Bea or Tita Mariolle, 'Kapag nakilala mo si Angelica, mala-love mo 'yan.' [Sabi ko], 'Really? Really?' [They would say], 'She's really crazy like you. You're really gonna get along.' 

"So, noong narinig ko 'yon kagabi, I was really so happy. Noong napanood ko kanina [Angelica's interview], sabi ko, 'Oh, my God, this is really a blessing.' It's so nice kasi kakabalik ko lang. It's so nice that I know I'm gonna have a good friend."

Gretchen also pointed out the important role of Derek in bridging the gap between her and Angelica.

Angelica already stressed this in her interview yesterday by saying, "Ngayon naiintindihan ko, unti-unti ko siyang [Gretchen] nakikilala. And yung mga tao sa paligid namin, nagsasabi mabuti siyang tao, at ang nagsabi nun si Derek din mismo."

Gretchen agreed, "Thankful ako kay Derek kasi he really worked on it na pinag-ayos kami, so ang laki ng utang ng loob ko."

She added, "Thankful talaga ako because I was also worried for a while na baka ma-affect din ang friendship namin ni Derek. And like I said, I'm just so really thankful to be in this business and to have friends.  I'm here in the business to also make friends and ayaw ko ng enemy. You know, life is too short for anything that's negative. I only like positive things to come into my life so I want everything positive around me."

"I'M JUST HAVING FUN." Gretchen related that after her "playful remark" about Derek, the ABS-CBN management reminded her to avoid getting involved in an issue against a fellow Kapamilya.

"Dito, magkapamilya kami, bawal mag-away. Sinermunan kami ng management," she smilingly told the entertainment press. "Si Tita Mariolle sabi, 'Don't be naughty. No fighting.' I said, 'No, I'm not fighting, I'm just being naughty.' Kasi, I think that's also my mistake na I always cater to the audience. Parang I know that you're trying to drive at something, so parang ibinibigay ko sa inyo, nagiging naughty ako. Nakakalimutan ko na may mga naaapakan, may nasasaktan. Siyempre, mali naman talaga ang ginawa ko. Buti nga hindi ako sinabunutan, 'yong [hair] extensions ko! (Laughs)."

Gretchen said that she really wants to change her attitude.

"I don't know if I can totally change," she said. "But one thing's for sure, gusto kong magbago for the better. Hindi naman puwedeng habang tumatanda tayo, paurong tayo nang paurong. I forget na, 'Oh, my gosh, I'm really older now.' Ang daming nagsasabi—sinermunan ako ni Marjorie [Barretto, her sister], even Tony [Cojuangco, her partner], and my brothers, 'Oh my gosh, will you stop it?' I said, 'I'm just having fun.' [They said], 'Yeah, but it was done in bad taste.'

"So, you know, I pay the price. Sorry to say, but I really pay the price dahil everybody, siyempre, sinermunan ako na, 'Will you please grow up?' But I'm having fun, can I take my time? (Laughs)."

Now that the controversy between her and Angelica has been resolved, Gretchen wants to move on and live a more positive life.

She stated, "Maraming-maraming blessings talaga na nangyayari and I really don't like war. And if there's anybody na nasaktan ko rin... You know, parang naging inspiration sa akin ang ginawa ni Angelica, na kung talagang tunay kang matapang, dapat matapang ka rin mag-sorry. Di ba, matapang ka rin na ma-realize mo na nagkamali ka. So now, parang na-realize ko rin na parang kung sa pagka-naughty ko ay may nasaktan din ako, siyempre, I'm also sorry. Pero hindi na ako nakikipag-away, 'no. Wala na akong time."
