Hindi pa naman sigurado ang petsa ng kasal pero naging matunog ang balitang sa December 22 magaganap ang wedding of the year.
"That's why my announcement in Party Pilipinas was 'before the year ends,' so, it can be December 31, midnight," natatawang sabi ni Ogie.
"Our only reason for this is because it's very difficult to control, you know, everybody being invited. So as to keep it solemn and private and without many, many distractions. We chose for it to be private, I mean to keep the venue and, of course, the date a secret."
But will it be somewhere in the Philippines?
"Maybe," natatawa uling sagot ni Ogie. Pero sa panahong naiiwan hanggang sa araw na itinakda na nila, kailan man iyon, aminado si Ogie na mukhang gagahulin na sila sa oras para sa mga preparasyon. "The truth is we're pressed for time."
Si Regine daw mismo ang may ayaw ng malaking kasalan.
"No, no... In fact, gusto nga niya maliit na maliit na wedding lang. Ako na yung medyo nag-convince sa kanya na sana palakihin natin nang konti."
Ilan sa mga magnininang at ninong sa kasal ay sina Atty. Felipe L. Gozon at Ms. Wilma Galvante ng GMA-7 at ang TV5 owner na si Mr. Manny V. Pangilinan.
THE PRESIDENT AS ABAY. Abay naman sa kasal ang Pangulo ng Pilipinas na si Noynoy Aquino. Nagkaroon ng pagkakataon si Ogie na hilingin ang karangalang ito noong induction of officers ng Organisasyon ng Pilipinong Mang-aawit (OPM) sa Malacañang noong Hulyo. Ang una ngang kahilingan ni Ogie ay maging isa sa principal sponsors ang Pangulo, pero ang sabi ng Presidente ay mas mabuting maging secondary sponsor na lang ang papel niya.
Last Wednesday naman ay pumunta ang magkasintahan sa opisina nina Atty. Gozon at Ms. Galvante. "Sabi niya [Atty. Gozon], double yes... Sabi niya kahit tawagan ko na lang siya, kaya lang siyempre... dapat siyempre pormal hingan si Boss, si Mr. Gozon, ng kanyang oo. Nagpapasalamat kami sa kanya."
Naikuwento naman ni Dra. Vicki Belo, isa sa magiging ninang, na si Monique Lhuillier ang gagawa ng wedding gown kaya magkasamang pupunta sa Amerika sina Vicki at Regine.
Importanteng bahagi rin ng mahalagang okasyong iyon ang dating asawang si Michelle, ang mister niyang si Mark, at mga anak ni Ogie na sina Leila at Sarah.
"Yes, they will be here, the kids will be here," sabi ni Ogie. "So far we haven't really finalized that, but I asked Michelle's help because Michelle's job in Australia is she's an event organizer and she also organizes weddings and she took a year of arranging flowers. So dun ako nagtatanong ng advice." Pero iba ang kanilang magiging wedding planner.
Sino ang best man? "Hindi ko pa naiisip, e, I'm really still praying about it."
THE WEDDING SINGERS. Ang wedding song naman ay "puro mga kanta ko, mga medley. Yes, I'd probably sing 'Walang Iba' and I'll probably ask, well, he doesn't know it, I'll probably ask Martin [Nievera] to sing 'Ikaw Ang Aking Pangarap.'
"Lea Salonga, actually the truth is, she offered if she could sing, I still don't know what I will ask her to sing.
"Gary [Valenciano] also offered to sing. I'll probably ask him to sing 'Kailangan Kita.'"
Ang composer-conductor na si Ryan Cayabyab naman na kasama ni Ogie ngayong October sa PICC show na Ogie And Mr. C ay may kontribusyon din sa kasal.
Ayon kay Mr. C, "I told Ogie, siya na yung sumulat ng wedding entourage march, okay na sa akin, ako na susulat ng bridal march ni Regine." Ang kanta ay "Iniibig Kita."
"Actually meron na 'yang awitin na 'yan," sabi ni Mr C. "Ang gagawin ko iaareglo ko na lang. Kung kukuha sila ng choir o orchestra, ready na yung areglo."
