"I am going to be a mother. Di kami mag-aasawa...because of the pregnancy but because we love each other. We are building a family together and we're excited about that."
This was the big announcement of sexy star Krista Ranillo in an exclusive interview with The Buzz correspondent Monet Lu in the U.S. shown today, August 15.
Krista wed her childhood sweetheart Jefferson Niño Lim at Hotel Maya in Long Beach, California, last August 8. It was the second wedding ceremony for the couple. (CLICK HERE to read related story.)
Krista and Niño first got married in simple ceremonies at Norwalk last July 14, 2010. There were no witnesses invited. Both Krista and Niño planned a second wedding to share with family and close friends. They said they wanted to have a private ceremony but the media learned about this. The second ceremony, a Jewish wedding, pushed through last August 8.
"Ang reception, sa Burger Place lang kami..." Krista added.
Prior to her departure for the U.S. late last year, persistent showbiz wags had linked Krista romantically to boxing champ Manny Pacquiao. To evade talk and put a halt to what her camp called showbiz intrigue, Krista packed her bags and joined her designer cousin in the U.S.
"Well, siyempre, yung time na yun... magulo na 'yon. Nakatulong talaga kung saan ang pamilya ko," explained Krista.
Krista said, while in the U.S., she focused on business and was able to set up a clothing line with her designer cousin targeting the younger market. It was during this time that she and her childhood friend, Niño, once again crossed paths. Soon, both were playing beautiful music. Then they decided to tie the knot.
On her husband, Krista remarks fondly: "Si Niño, kababata ko. Mabait na tao. Businessman 'yan. Very smart. Summa cum laude sa UST. Nakikita niya ang kabutihan ng isang tao."
