Nagsalita na ang Mayor ng Makati City Junjun Binay tungkol sa pagkakaugnay niya kay Kris Aquino, ang bunsong kapatid ni President Noynoy Aquino. Kung matatandaan, nabanggit ng TV host-actress sa panayam niya sa SNN noong July 30 na isa ang alkalde sa mga lalaking malapit sa kanya sa ngayon.
"Among everybody na nili-link sa akin, he's the only one I have been communicating with," saad ni Kris. "Kaklaruhin ko po, hindi siya nanliligaw sa akin. Pero matalik ko siyang kaibigan. Nakilala ko siya when I was grieving for my mother. Nakilala niya ako when he lost his wife." (CLICK HERE to read related story.)
Sa panayam ng ABS-CBN News kay Mayor Binay noong August 13, sinabi nito na "flattered" siya nang narinig ang pahayag ni Kris na siya raw ay isang mabuting kaibigan, at nasa kanya na raw ang lahat ng "qualities that I admire in a man."
Pahayag ni Mayor Binay, "First of all, we're friends... And I feel obviously flattered with what she said... She's going through a lot, so again, like what I said in my previous statement, let's just pray for her because she's going through a lot at this point in her life."
Ipinagdarasal din daw ng bagong alkalde ng Makati ang kaligayahan ni Kris.
"So, ito yung salita ng isang kaibigan na siyempre, gusto rin natin na maging matibay siya. At the same time, after she has come through all of these, sana lumigaya din yung tao," sabi nito.
Nasa krisis din kasi ngayon ang married life ni Kris. Nag-file na siya ng petition para sa declaration of nullity of marriage nila ng basketball superstar na si James Yap. (CLICK HERE to read related story.)
Sinang-ayunan ni Mayor Binay na naging malapit nga sila ni Kris dahil halos sabay silang nawalan ng minamahal sa buhay noong isang taon.
Ang ina ni Kris na si dating Presidente Cory Aquino ay namatay noong August 1, 2009, pagkatapos ng mahigit isang taong pakikipaglaban sa colon cancer. Ang misis naman ni Mayor Junjun na si Kennely Ann Lacia-Binay ay namatay noong August 11, 2009, sa komplikasyon sa pagluluwal sa ikaapat na anak. Twenty-nine-years old lamang ang asawa ng dating konsehal ng Makati nang bawian ito ng buhay.
Gayunpaman, sinabi ni Mayor Binay na wala pa raw silang komunikasyon ni Kris simula noong umuwi ito mula sa bakasyon sa Amerika.
"Hindi kami nagkikita, hindi kami nag-uusap," saad nito. Dagdag pa niya, hanggang ngayon ay ipinagluluksa niya ang pagkamatay ng asawa, kaya't hindi pa panahon upang pumasok sa isang bagong relasyon.
Hindi naman daw nababahala si Mayor Binay kung lalo siyang tutukan ng media dahil sa mga pahayag ni Kris. Aniya, hindi naman pribado ang buhay nila dahil matagal na siyang nasa gobyerno, at saka ang ama niyang si Jejomar Binay, matapos ng mahabang panahong pagiging mayor ng Makati, ay pangalawang pangulo ngayon ng bansa.
Ngunit ipinakiusap niya pa rin sa media na huwag nang idamay ang kanyang mga anak sa naturang issue. "Let's leave them out of this," saad ni Mayor Binay. "My children are very young. They can't understand [what's happening]."
