Until now, radio and TV host Mr. Fu still can't believe he'll be working side by side with veteran comedian Joey de Leon in TV5's newest primetime show Wow Meganon?!, which premiered yesterday, September 6.

"Siyempre, alam naman nating si Tito Joey, siya na talaga ang icon on Philippine TV. Kaya siyempre, talagang it's an honor for me to work with Tito Joey," Mr. Fu told PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and other reporters during the presscon for the show last night at Cravings restaurant along Tomas Morato in Quezon City.

"Nakasama ko na siya dati sa Eat Bulaga! pero never pa akong nakatabi si Tito Joey. Kaya talagang dream come true! Tunog echos siya, pero talagang totoo. Ganun talaga ang feeling," added Mr. Fu.

Mr. Fu revealed that Joey was among the few people who boosted his confidence, even before he hit it big in showbiz. As a reporter for RPN-9 in 2004, Mr. Fu interviewed Joey who just had received a Helen Vela Lifetime Achievement Award from PMPC.

"Kasi in-interview ko siya noon," started Mr. Fu. "Nakakuha siya ng lifetime achievement award sa Enpress [entertainment writers' group]. Tandang-tanda ko sa Camp Aguinaldo Theater. Tapos naglo-lollipop siya noon."

Mr. Fu said the interview did not sound good enough for TV.

"Tapos tinanong ko, 'Tito Joey, anong masasabi n'yong nakatanggap na kayo ng Lifetime Achievement Award?' Nilabas niya yung lollipop. 'Dapat nga matagal na sa aking binigay 'to, e,' sabi niyang ganun. 'A, okay po. Ano naman pong mabibigay n'yong message sa mga up-and-coming hosts?' Ang sagot niya lang sa akin, 'Galingan nila.' Sabi ko, 'Paano kaya magagamit yung soundbite, e, TV ito?'"

But Joey would make the interview more interesting when he noticed that Mr. Fu was from RPN-9.

Mr. Fu explained, "Sabi ko, 'Sige po, salamat po.' Tapos, tiningnan niya yung microphone. Tapos sabi niya sa akin, 'Ay, RPN!' Sabi niya, 'O, diyan nagsimula ang Eat Bulaga!' Tapos sabi ko, 'Alam ko nga po.' 'O ikaw, nakikita kita sa RPN, ikaw yung may audience sa likod,' sabi niyang gano'n. 'O, galingan mo, ha?'

"Naka-save yung DVC tape, nasa bahay. Promise!" he exclaimed. "Kaya nga nung tinawagan ako ni Noel Ferrer, manager ko, sabi niya nga na may Wow Meganon?!, sabi ko, 'Pakiulit?' Akala ko nawa-Wow Mali! ako. Tapos yun nga pala, totoo. Siyempre, very honored ako na makasama si Tito Joey."
