Singer, songwriter, and former child star Aiza Seguerra has confirmed that she will be the front act at John Mayer's Manila concert.

Aiza confirmed this to PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and other entertainment media during the contract-signing of Carol Banawa with Star Records, last Friday, September 24, at the 14^th Floor of the EJJ Building, ABS-CBN compound in Quezon City.

Aiza was present as producer of Carol's comeback album.

Mayer's concert is scheduled for October 1 at the SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds.

The talented and diminutive singer said that she was also scheduled to do the front act for John Mayer's concert last May.

"Actually, yung first na dating pa lang niya dito dapat. Nakausap na din kami for that show, kaso na-cancel," Aiza tells.

"Kumbaga, I didn't want to say anything hangga't wala ako sa stage. Para siguradong, 'Uy, ako yung front act ni John Mayer.'

"Naglabas na din naman sila ng mga collateral, and siyempre, excited na din kami, ako at ang buong banda," the 27-year-old singer said.

Aiza's bandmates are highly respected musicians: brothers Mike Villegas (guitar) and Angelo Villegas (bass), Jonathan Urbano (violin), Budeths Casinto (drums), and Ria Villena-Osorio (keyboard).

A self-confessed fan of John Mayer, Aiza said she likes all the songs from the international singer's first album, Room for Squares (2001).

"Yung first album, very simple. Kasi, di ba, hindi pa siya naghe-heavy sa first album? So ayun, any sa first album niya," she answered to a question about her favorites among John Mayer's hits.

FIRST-TIME ALBUM PRODUCER. The other big news coming from Aiza's camp is that she is producing the comeback album of much-missed singer Carol Banawa, who is back from a seven-year stay in the United States.

Carol is known for her songs Stay, which she composed herself, Tanging Yaman (originally sung by Basil Valdez), and Muntik na Kitang Minahal (originally sung by The Company). And although her stay here is temporary, her admirable track record made Star Records sign her up immediately. 

Aiza's experience as a producer includes producing a song for Juris, the lead vocal of the band MYMP, entitled 'Di Lang Ikaw, in 2009. But this is the first album she will produce.

She admitted to being excited about this project and teamup: "Actually, bata pa lang kami ni Carol, nagkakasama na kami. Matagal na 'yun, bata pa si Carol nun, tsaka ako. Kaya ever since naman, yung paths namin nagkro-cross."

Acknowledging Carol's genuine talent, Aiza added, "Excited, sobrang excited, kasi parang yung kalibre ni Carol...binigyan din ako ng chance na makasama siya!"
