Pinakaunang soap opera ng StarStruck V Ultimate Male Survivor na si Steven Silva ang Koreana. Kumusta so far ang pagtratrabaho niya sa afternoon drama series na ito ng GMA-7?

"So far, so good. I haven't filmed too many scenes, but I have been reading my script," sabi ni Steven sa panayam sa kanya ng PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) sa presscon ng Koreana kagabi, October 5, sa 17^th floor ng GMA Network Center.

"And yung sa akin lang, yung concept, it's really cool kasi dati pa, I used to watch yung mga Korean dramas. So when I saw the project, parang it's very interesting for me.

"'Tapos sa mga Pinoys also, kasi alam ko there's parang Korean wave here sa Pilipinas. So, it's kinda cool."

Dati pa kasi sa interviews sa kanya, laging sinasabi ni Steven na gusto niyang makagawa ng isang Koreanovela. Hindi man isang Koreanovela ang ibinigay sa kanya ng GMA, isa naman itong original Filipino series tungkol sa kultura ng mga Koreano, lalo na ang Korean cuisine.

"Sobrang excited ako kasi it's parang really cool," sabi niya. "It's a role that I really would want to do. And like I said, it's cool kasi it's a bridge between Filipinos and Koreans.

"Kasi, it's not strictly Korean drama and it's not strictly Filipino. Parang there's a mixture of Korean culture and also Filipino culture. So, it's really cool for me."

Nilinaw naman ni Steven na wala siyang dugong Korean tulad ng akala ng marami.

"Yung mga press, akala nila I'm Korean," sabi niya. "Pero for the record, ang mommy ko half-Pinoy, half Chinese; ang daddy ko is full Portuguese.

"Ang apelyidong Silva is very common sa mga Portuguese. Parang like sa States, 'Williams', 'Johnson'... Yung Silva, it's more of a common Portuguese name.

"So, 'yon, [I'm] half-Portuguese, Chinese and Filipino."

ROCCO NACINO. Kasama rin sa Koreana, na pinagbibidahan ni Kris Bernal, si Rocco Nacino na isa sa runners-up ni Steven sa StarStruck V.

Base sa obserbasyon ng marami, tila mas maraming projects si Rocco kaysa kay Steven kahit na ang huli ang winner sa naturang artista search ng GMA-7. Bukod kasi si Koreana ay kasama rin si Rocco sa Kaya ng Powers at Party Pilipinas, samantalang si Steven naman ay Party Pilipinas ang ibang show.

Pero hindi naman daw masama ang loob ni Steven.

Aniya, "Alam ko si Rocco, he has his projects. Pero sa akin, I also have my other... different projects, aside from him.

"I am more sa singing. So, I've been doing guestings sa... Actually the other day, I went to a beauty pageant in Bulacan and I was able to serenade the contestants there.

"So, parang ano, it is my first soap and I'm excited for it. So, sana everything goes out well," asam ni Steven.

KRIS BERNAL. How is it working with Kris?

"First time, pero nag -meet kami sa mga StarStruck days," banggit ng 23-year-old actor-singer.

"Tapos I think there was one challenge, kami ni Rocco, may challenge kami sa StarStruck, we guested sa The Last Prince. So, nag-meet kami ni Kris." Ang tinutukoy ni Steven ay ang dating telefantasya ni Kris kasama si Aljur Abrenica.

"Si Kris," patuloy niya, "she's really down to earth, sobrang mabait. Kasi at first, I have to admit, you know, I was starstruck. Kasi siyempre, it's Kris Bernal!"

Di ba't pareho lang naman silang StarStruck winner ni Kris?

"Still, kasi I'm still new," nakangiting sabi ni Steven. "So when I met her, I was really medyo starstruck.

"Pero when we started throwing lines, she was laughing. Natawa siya sa akin kasi narinig niya yung Tagalog ko. Kasi siyempre, may accent ako.

"And sabi niya sa akin...she started laughing and I said, 'Oh, why are you laughing?' Sabi niya, 'Ang cute mo, ang cute ng accent mo!'

"And I was like, 'A, okay!' Parang it broke the ice. And at that point, I felt more comfortable with her.

"And hanggang ngayon, me and Kris are still close. And I don't feel so much pressure working with her kasi I know she's really down to earth and she's always there, like para to help me with my lines or we throw lines.

"So, it's okay, okay naman."

DIVA MONTELABA. During StarStruck V, na-link si Steven sa First Princess na si Diva Montelaba. Kumusta na sila ngayon?

"We're okay, we're okay!" sambit niya. "Yeah, we still hang out every now and then. Actually the other day, a bunch of us, from StarStruck, hung out—me, Ian [Batherson], Diva, and some other friends."

Hindi raw siya nanliligaw kay Diva at wala rin daw silang mutual understanding o M.U.

"Ano kasi, siguro ano, yung understanding namin is, well, we've always been really close friends for now.

"Me and Diva have been close after, during StarStruck, and even now. But right now, we've always been good friends," saad niya.

Puwede raw magpaligaw sa ibang lalaki si Diva at si Steven naman ay maaaring manligaw sa ibang babae.

"Of course! Why would there be a problem?" sabi ni Steven.

"There's no problem kasi alam niya we're in showbiz and, you know, we'll always gonna meet other people. We've always been close and parang kahit pagkatapos ng StarStruck, we've kept our communication."

IAN BATHERSON. Nabanggit na lang din ni Steven si Ian Batherson, tinanong namin si Steven kung nag-audition din ba siya sa Survivor Philippines Celebrity Showdown, kung saan isa sa mga castaway si Ian.

"A, hindi, hindi," sagot niya.

Pero happy raw siya para kay Ian.

"Kasi si Ian, alam ko si Ian, he really wants to succeed in showbiz. Sabi ni Ian sa akin, gusto niya mag-try sa Survivor para he could really test himself, his abilities, sa Survivor.

"So, I'm happy for him. Si Ian, sana he does really well sa Survivor."

Kung si Steven ang sumali sa Survivor, kakayanin kaya niya?

"A, sa Survivor? Hindi ko alam. Sobrang hirap ng tasks nila, it's really hard sa Survivor.

"Pero ano, if I could ever, maybe in the future I would like to try. Pero ngayon siguro, hindi ko kaya. It's really hard," sabi ni Steven.
