"Hindi siya masyadong confident when it comes to expressing herself in English. So, yun lang yung medyo kinakabahan ako sa kanya," Wilma Doesnt voices out her concern for Czarina Gatbonton as the reigning Bb. Pilipinas-World competes for the Miss World title.

Model-turned-comedienne Wilma Doesnt said that she strongly believes reigning Bb. Pilipinas-World Czarina Gatbonton should answer in Filipino and get an interpreter for the Q&A portion of the Miss World pageant, in an interview after the Elite Fashion Show last night, October 7, at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.

The Miss World pageant will be held in Sanya, People's Republic of China, on October 30.

"Well, parang siguro sa akin, she should get an interpreter. Kailangan niya ng interpreter," Wilma said.

Wilma explained that Czarina isn't confident yet about speaking in  English, that's why it would be better if she answers the question in Filipino. "Hindi siya masyadong confident when it comes to expressing herself in English. So, yun lang yung medyo kinakabahan ako sa kanya."

However, the model and one of this year's trainers for the Philippines' bets for the three prestigious beauty pageants said that Czarina has all the traits that could make her snag the title. "Si Czarina, parang ang laging description ko kay Czarina, she's a beautiful Filipina. Makakalusot 'yon, 'wag lang nerbiyosin.

"Yung edge niya, one, is the color. And then, she's a really beautiful Filipina─may dimple, maganda ang ngipin, maganda ang mata," Wilma said of Philippines' bet for this year's Ms. World beauty pageant.

She added, "She's beautiful. Kayang-kaya niya yun.

Wilma related that she has voiced out this suggestion to her co-trainers and to Czarina, as well. "Yes, I told her [Czarina] that. Pilipinas pageant].

"'Answer in Tagalog! Answer in Tagalog!'" Wilma related how she excitedly coached Czarina during the local beauty pageant's question and answer portion last March.

"But she has a good heart. Mabait talaga siya by nature. Meron siyang faith. Siguro naman sa mataimtim na dasal, masisilat niya yung title," the morena model said.

TIPS FOR VENUS RAJ. Wilma also trained Ms. Universe 4th runner up Venus Raj for the Ms. Universe pageant. Wilma stressed the importance of self-confidence in beauty pageants. "I always told them, yung self-confidence, lagi kong sinasabi.

Wilma also shared one thing she asked Venus to do, which the beauty queen followed, "Kung mapapansin mo si Venus sa Ms. Universe, lahat ng mga contestants ang lalaki ng mga kamay pero siya always, always, I keep on reminding them na, to keep their fingers together cause it's softer.

"At saka mas malambot, mas babae yung dating. Alam niya yun," Wilma recalled.

KONTRABIDA DREAM. On the boob-tube, Wilma is always seen as a perky comedienne, but she revealed to PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) that she dreams of playing a kontrabida.

"It's my dream. Gusto ko talagang maging kontrabida. Kasi, like with my height, with my features... Feeling ko effective akong kontrabida." Wilma said.

Has she received offers to play villain?

If the candidate choose to speak in Tagalog, it means to say that she is not fluent in English.

Actually English is like 3rd language in the Philippines. The first is our local dialect, if you are Bisaya or Ilonggo, that's our first mother tounge, 2nd is Tagalog which everyone speaks and the third is English.

But it would be nice to see our girls speaks in English, after all, even candidates from so called power house answers in English, like Miss Universe 2008 from Venezuela, etc. so why can't Filipinos speak English like the Indians do.

Besides its not the grammar that counts, its the messange and the content that the candidate wants to convey, as long as you dont falter and evade and say thank you thank you just to end the answer and say major major brouhahaha.

Bakit kaya?

Let's face it. If you are not fluent in english. Then, mag Tagalog ka na lang. There's nothing wrong w/ that. Walang bawas sa puntos yun. Marami kasing beauty na TRYING HARD. PAK!

Baka mas mas mapansin pa sya kasi history in the making ba dahil sya ang magiging kauna-unahang Pinay candidate na nagta-Tagalog.

    Be a proud Pinay Czarina!

    Not to worry oneself.

[to live your life as you please]

    balugababes version:

Classy, your version, made my frenchie connections, laugh a little. Balugababes version is the correct one. Entertaining ang exchanges nyo, sa tutoo lang. Okay kayong dalawa.
So, okay lang sa inyong dalawa for the Philippine candidate to use an interpreter?

If you go to other countries and speak with too many flowery words you would look like a freaking boring politician. Just because you speak perfect English it doesn't guarantee success. There are a lot of good English speakers ending up flipping burgers and folding oversized underwears at Walmart.

    your version:

    my version:

so kung nilagay mo, 'live your life as you please'
literal nyang intrataranslate, word for word: vivre votre vie comme s'il vous plait...kaya mali na agad ang meaning kase yung 'live' and 'please' na tinanslate ng google are not the right words to use in this context

so i disagree with you na himala, andaming nagsulpotang marun

Working at a callcenter can make you a better English speaking person? What made you say that? I live in the states and whenever I have a pinoy, indian or pakistani on the other end, I have a hard time understanding them. Being able to speak English is not how you measure ones confidence, knowledge and intelligence. It's all common sense dear. Think first before you reply to this comment and don't make yourself look bad.
