Jewel Mische formally signed a two-year exclusive contract with Star Magic last night, December 8.
She was formally welcomed by Kapamilya network executives Cory Vidanes (channel head), Linggit Tan (TV entertainment head), and Deo Endrinal.
Also on hand were Star Magic bosses Johnny Manahan and Mariole Alberto, and PR consultant Pat-P Daza.
Jewel is a product of StarStruck, the reality-based artista search of the Kapuso network, where she won as Ultimate Sweetheart in Season 4.
She appeared in various Kapuso shows, most notably Kamandag, where she was paired with former boyfriend Richard Gutierrez.
Her last regular show as a Kapuso was Pilyang Kerubin.
Jewel was with GMA-7 for four years.
THE BIG LEAP. Jewel granted PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) an exclusive interview after the contract signing held at the 9501 restaurant inside the ABS-CBN compound.
The 20-year-old actress talked about the circumstances of her transfer to the Kapamilya network.
PEP first sighted Jewel inside the ABS-CBN compound last September 13, 2010.
"It was all exploratory talks at that time. There were no concrete plans that time," Jewel said about the meeting with Mr. M (Johnny Manahan).
At that time, she was still with GMA Artist Center (GMAAC) and co-managed by Annabelle Rama.
Jewel disclosed that she went to the Kapamilya network on her own that time.
"During that time, I was talking with them [GMAAC] also," said Jewel, but she refused to reveal details about that meeting.
Jewel thanked the big bosses of GMA-7 for allowing her to transfer to ABS-CBN.
