Zanjoe Marudo has started 2011 with a new romance.

In the January 12 episode of TV Patrol, the former boyfriend of Mariel Rodriguez admitted he is now courting Bea Alonzo.

Zanjoe and Mariel were together for three years before they split up in May 2010. On August 19, Mariel married Robin Padilla at the Taj Mahal in India.

Last January 4, Bea admitted on Showbiz News Ngayon that she has been going out with Zanjoe but accompanied by common friends.

Zanjoe commented on his courtship of Bea, "Siyempre umaasa ako na kung saan man aabot, kung saan man darating... pero sa ngayon nag-e-enjoy kami."

He also confirmed that Bea was his date when he recently attended the wedding of a basketball player.

"Totoo naman 'yon. Lumalabas naman talaga kami lalo na noong Christmas break dahil pareho kaming walang trabaho at hindi kami nagbakasyon."

When asked what he likes most about Bea, the ABS-CBN actor said:

"Isa sa magagandang ugali niya 'yong kung paano niya mahalin ang pamilya niya, kung gaano ka-importante sa kanya 'yong pamilya niya, na mas inuuna niya 'yon kaysa sa sarili niya."

Zanjoe escorted Bea during the Star Magic Ball held September 5, 2010 at the Shangri-La Hotel in Makati City. He was one of Bea's leading men in the family drama, Sa 'Yo Lamang. 

Incidentally, Bea's next TV project titled Guns & Roses will pair her with Robin Padilla.
