"She's more of family person, hindi siya maarte, hindi siya gumigimik. I like that about her. She is a nice person," Guji Lorenzana fondly describes Kaye Abad.

Kuwento niya, "I auditioned for American Idol...  Sabi sa akin ni Simon [Cowell] I have the potential to make it. I have the voice. I just didn't have yung sinasabi niyang 'it' factor."

MUSIC BROUGHT HIM HOME. Ito ay matapos niyang makausap si Simon Cowell that convinced him to try the local music scene.

Pinanganak at lumaki sa States sa Guji. Bumalik na lang siya dito sa Pilipinas noong siya ay 23 years old.

"I decided to try music here so... I made an album in the States, I brought it here to the Philippines and then nag-start na yung career ko. The thing was, mahirap mag-music dito, e. Sabi, 'Mag- showbiz ka or something.' So that's when I decided to join Star Magic. I did theater and then I did Star Magic," kwento niya.

"[Penetrating] the music industry in the States is difficult. I mean, it is only now that Filipinos are making it in pop music, like Charice made it. They are making it in the industry but it is very competitive.

"Dito sa Pilipinas naman, piracy is such a big issue. More labels are banking on artists who are on TV already, e. That's why nag-showbiz ako. Para makilala ako," paliwanag ni Guji.

LOVES ACTING.

"I feel lucky... kasi when I joined showbiz... nag-soap ako [Precious Heart Romances] with Kaye Abad, tapos pinasok ako dun sa ASAP. I've been actually very, very lucky," nakangiting kwento niya.
