Last Valentine's Day, Glaiza de Castro was in Palawan for work. Although she was back in Manila that same night, she chose to relax at home.

"May mga nag-i-invite [na lumabas], gusto ng isip ko pero ayaw nung katawan ko," she admitted in an interview with PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) last February 15 at Max's restaurant in Scout Tuazon, Quezon City.

Is she dating right now?

"Hindi. Gusto ko lang talagang umalis ulit at mag-unwind at mag-relax. Pero hindi, kasi may pressure, e, kapag sinabi mong date. E, ayoko munang isipin yung mga ganung bagay."

Is she entertaining any suitor now? 

"Hindi. Dahil siguro ayoko rin na mag-expect sila," explained the 22-year-old actress.

"Dahil sa ngayon, honestly, hindi pa talaga ako ready na pumasok sa relationship dahil sa mga nangyari sa 'kin last year. Sabi ko, ayoko na muna dahil ang daming pumasok [na projects], like Grazilda. Tapos, akala ko kaya ko i-handle lahat. Dumating sa point na hindi ko na kaya. So, ngayon, focus muna ako sa dapat unahin, which is career."

When she does become ready in the future, what are the qualities that she is looking for in a guy?

"Gusto ko yung may sense of humor, yung hindi pilit. Yun yung importante, e. Saka ayoko ng pinipilit na sundan yung trip mo na hindi naman talaga niya trip. Saka emphatic para hindi mo na kailangan magsalita pa ramdam na niya kung ano man yung pinagdaraanan mo. Tapos God-fearing, lahat na andun...mabait. Yun lang ang basic qualities."

TWO CINEMALAYA ENTRIES. On television, Glaiza will soon be seen in the epicserye Amaya. She is cast as Binayaan, the half-sister of a warrior princess, to be portrayed by Marian Rivera.

Glaiza will also be part of two Cinemalaya entries: Patikul, which is the true-to-life story of teachers in Mindanao, and e-Libings, which depicts the practice of installing webcams to document a wake. (CLICK HERE to view the complete list of the 2011 Cinemalaya finalists.)

Patikul is Joel Lamangan's entry to the Director's Showcase category. It tells the story of Michael Balmes (Marvin Agustin), a principal who is kidnapped by rebel soldiers in exchange for ransom money.

Glaiza is cast as Elsie Goleta, a co-teacher of Michael who also works in Patikul, which is located in Mindanao.

"Ako yung magte-take over dun sa isa sa mga titser na nasawi. Tapos, ako yung sasama sa mga bata sa quiz bee, magte-train sa kanila, magre-review para sa kanila."

Allen Dizon is cast as the father of one of the kids reviewing for a spelling bee. Dimples Romana plays the wife of Allen while child actor Martin delos Santos is cast as their son.
