"I want to take up Medical Biology as my pre-med [pre-medical course]. Dati ko pang pangarap yun and sobrang excited akong i-announce at sobrang excited ako na makapasok ng school sa June," says Jodi Sta. Maria about her plan to work and study at the same time.

Jodi Sta. Maria will be seen again on television for ABS-CBN's new primetime series, 100 Days to Heaven.

She is cast as Sophia, the daughter of Joel Torre's character. Sophia tries to help Anna Manalastas (portrayed by Coney Reyes and Xyriel Manabat) complete her mission before she runs out of time.

Jodi says about her character, "First time kong magkaroon ng role na scam artist at nakakatawa.

"Kasi every now and then, nag-iiba ang itsura ko at kailangan kong gumawa ng 'kalokohan' para sa kapatid ko na may sakit. Kailangan ko kasing tustusan ang pagpagamot niya sa ospital.

"Since mahirap lang kami, yun lang ang nakikita kong way para kumita ng pera."

Does she find it distracting to bring along her son, Thirdy, to the set of her new show?

"No, sanay na ako," Jodie replied.

"Kasi noong ginagawa ko ang Walang Kapalit (2007), six months old pa lang siya nun. Kasama ko na talaga siya and he does his own thing.

"If I'm practicing my lines, he plays with the other kids and hindi naman siya nagiging pabigat.

"Nag-e-enjoy nga ako na alam kong nandito siya at kasama ko siya imbes na iiwan ko siya sa bahay.

"Hindi siya naiinip kasi nandiyan si Louise [Abuel, who plays Kevin in the show] and si Xyriel [Manabat] na kalaro niya.

Will she allow Thirdy to join showbiz in the future?

"Wala namang problema sa akin as long as matapos niya ang school niya," said Jodi.

What are their plans for Mother's Day?

"Actually, mayroon akong show on Mother's Day then, after nun, magde-date kami ni Thirdy, kaming dalawa lang.

BS Biology is great Jodi, it really doesn't matter which one you'd pick, it could be BS Nursing or BS MT. It is very nice knowing that few of Pinoy celebreties has ambitions- like finishing their college education. Go for it. And good luck!

you're a very good and versatile actress so i think you found your calling na. kung maging doktor ang goal mo, you have to be a full-time student and it's intense studying.but finish mo your undergrad and take it from there.

naku, medicine takes 10 years at the very least because of the internship. Full time school pa yun. Malabo, unless you stop showbiz. Med schools have cut off age. But good luck with your endeavors. It never hurts to try.

if she is serious about studying med science, she must invest time meaning its a fulltime commitment. i hope hindi lang eto pa impress.. sana gawin nya. iba parin ang may pinag aralan. pag d kana sikat at d na kumikita, at least meron kang sasandalan kung nakatapos ka.

I like her ever since. She's good as an artist and a private person. And I think she's being a good mother too.
