Sa wakas ay maipapalabas na rin ang Rakenrol, ang indie film na idinirek ni Quark Henares, na sinimulan niyang trabahuhin mula pa noong 2005.

"The first draft [of the script] was Feb, 2005 and then, first day of shoot was November 2007.

"So, siguro, 6 years, maybe..?" tila nanghuhulang banggit ng indie film at music video director sa PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) sa panayam dito kahapon, June 9 sa Blow-up Babies photo studio sa Serendra, Bonifacio High Street, Taguig City.

Kung isasama nga pati ang paggawa ng script ay lumalabas na six years in the making ang Rakenrol, pero apat na taon lang talaga kung ang pagsu-shoot naman ng mga eksena ang pag-uusapan.

Pero bakit nga ba tumagal nang ganun ang pelikula niya?

"Um.. because well, maraming ano, e... Like for example, ever since we wrote the script, [siya at ang gitarista ng bandang Sandwich na si Diego Castillo] ano siya, medyo niche.

"I mean, hindi siya art film, I think it's very, very palatable, feeling ko very digestable film siya. Pero dahil theme niya is rock culture, parang naging resistant.

"So, it really passed through everyone. It was supposed to be Star Cinema, 'tapos naging Viva, 'tapos naging Regal, 'tapos naging Unitel, so it really passed through so many people before finally na, 'O, sige, let's do it indie with Reality.'

"So, medyo ano siya, long, long process," paliwanag ni Direk Quark.

Reality Films ay ang indie film company na pagmamay-ari ni Dondon Monteverde, anak na lalaki ng Regal Films matriarch na si Mother Lily Monteverde.

Hiningan ng PEP ang 29-year-old filmmaker ng kaunting background o summary tungkol sa Rakenrol.

"Best friends si Glaiza [de Castro]and Jason Abalos, their characters are Odie and Irene.

"Na-in love si Odie kay Irene, he started writing songs about her. Narinig ni Irene yung mga songs, hindi niya alam it's about her, pero dream niya talaga magkabanda. So, sabi niya, 'Oy, gawa tayo ng banda!'

"So they collect these guys—a barista na former punk and then yung school bully—'tapos nagbuo sila ng band. 'Tapos yun, you follow their misadventures.

"Eventually, Glaiza kinda falls in love with a real rock star who is played by Diether. Super super rockstar, si Jackie Rocha ang name niya, vocalist siya ng Baronmunchausen and, uh, yun, that's basically the gist of the story."
