In the midst of the problem she's facing right now with former boyfriend Bulacan, Bulacan Mayor Patrick Meneses, Aiko Melendez finds comfort in her former husbands Jomari Yllana and Michael Jickain. (CLICK HERE to read related article.)

Although her marriage with the actor and model-turned-chef both failed, Aiko still maintained good relationship with them.

Jomari is the father of Aiko's first child Andre, 13; while Martin is the father of Aiko's daughter Marthena, 5.

"You know, if there's one thing na na-realize ko, every time na nagkakaroon ako ng boyfriend, hindi nagiging okay ang relationship ko sa tatay nga mga anak ko," she told the entertainment media in an interview after the press conference of Reputasyon last July 13.

These experiences, according to Aiko, taught her a very important lesson.

"Ang tatay ng mga anak ko, kahit sino pang magselos diyan o magbawal sa 'yo, dapat sa akin na rin mangggaling na hindi dapat gano'n.

"Dapat I always maintain a good relationship with the fathers of my kids.

"Kasi, hindi ko na puwedeng burahin 'yan sa mapa ng puso ko, e, o sa mapa ng buhay ko.

"Forever na 'yan nakatatak.

"So, kung hindi na nga kami okay mag-asawa, tapos makikita pa ng mga anak ko na hindi okay, kahit magkaibigan lang, parang sampung saksak naman sa mga anak ko 'yon.

"Kaya ngayon, 'yan ang ipaglalaban ko.

"Kahit ano pang lovelife ang dumating sa akin, kahit pagselosan pa sila, hinding-hindi ko maalis sa buhay ko ang mga tatay ng anak ko," said the former Quezon City councilor.

Right now, Aiko says she is single and not dating anyone.

"Trabaho muna ako," she said.

"Kung gusto ninyong pumorma, pumorma lang, pero hindi ko priority 'yan ngayon."
