After series of screenings here and abroad, Miss World Philippines, headed by Ms. Cory Quirino, has finally chosen the 25 finalists who will compete for the Miss World Philippines 2011 title.
The coronation will take place this Sunday, September 18, at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) and will be aired over GMA-7 at 10:30 p.m.
Dingdong Dantes, Carla Abellana, and Isabelle Daza will host the show. Mark Bautista and Aljur Abrenica will perform numbers.
At the press conference held yesterday, September 15, at the PICC, the candidates were introduced to the members of the press together with the reigning Miss World, Alexandria Mills of the United States.
With the recent success of Shamcey Supsup who placed 3rd runner-up at the recent Miss Universe 2011, Cory was asked if Miss World Philippines organizers were now under pressure.
"So, that pressure has always been there. Whether Shamcey won or not, the pressure remains."
"So, I'm happy for our country. We even encourage more beautiful Filipinas to join.
"And if a Filipina made it in Miss Universe, that means, the consciousness of all the judges in the beauty pageant are open to welcoming the Filipina."
INTERPRETERS ALLOWED.
