Reports about the tragic death of Charice Pempengco's father did not only shock her local fans, it also made international headlines.

Ricky Pempengco, who is separated from Charice's mother Raquel, was stabbed to death before midnight last Monday, October 31, in San Pedro, Laguna. (CLICK HERE to read related article) 

Upon learning the tragic news, Charice said that she had a "great relationship" with her father before all the misunderstandings in their family began.

She also said that her father saw her as brave and courageous.

She wrote on her Twitter account yesterday, November 1: "Sinabi niya sa akin nung ako'y bata pa, na hindi actually alam ni mommy, gusto nya akong maging sundalo kasi sabi niya matapang daw ako.

"I loved him and I will still love him.

"He's still my Dad after all."

Following this, sympathetic messages from fellow celebrities appeared on Charice's Twitter timeline.

Her Glee co-stars Lea Michele and Jenna Ushkowitz offered their condolences via Twitter.

Lea, who plays the role of Charice's rival in the musical TV series, wrote yesterday: "My thoughts and prayers go out today to my girl @OfficialCharice and her family for their terrible loss.. Thinking of you Charice.."

Within minutes, Naya Rivera re-tweeted this message.

Jenna of Glee said: "Saddened to hear about Charice's loss. Sending all my love to you and your family."

Filipina American Idol hopeful Thia Megia posted on her Twitter: "@OfficialCharice My heart goes to you and your family. I'm so sorry for your loss but your dad's in a much better place now. <3 you always."

Celebrity mom Pia Magalona also expressed sympathy for Charice on her Twitter: "@OfficialCharice deepest condolences from my family to you, Charice. I pray u draw strength from knowing the love of God. Take care."

Charice's fans from all over the world also posted similar messages in the microblogging site.
