Carla Abellana refutes being hindered by Regal Films to promote Asiong Salonga; says no "legal threats" hound her

Carla Abellana clarifies that Regal Films owner Lily Monteverde does not prohibit her from promoting the Jorge "ER" Estregan Jr. starrer, Manila Kingpin: The Asiong Salonga Story.

She says, "Wala naman siyang sinasabing, 'Bawal, bawal!' Wala naman siyang sinasabing ganun but because Regal [Films] is my...exclusive producer [at] exclusive movie talent ako ng Regal, siyempre ang priority ko is Yesterday Today Tomorrow."

Actress Carla Abellana stars in two Metro Manila Film Festival entries for this year—Yesterday Today Tomorrow and Manila Kingpin: The Asiong Salonga Story.

This unusual situation has created a hullabaloo.

As a Regal talent, Carla is required to give priority to the Lily Monteverde-produced film, Yesterday Today Tomorrow over the Jorge "ER" Estregan, Jr.-starrer, Asiong Salonga.

Yesterday, December 8, at the press conference of Asiong Salonga, Governor ER expressed his fury at Mother Lily and Regal for allegedly disallowing Carla to promote the film; otherwise, the production would press charges against Carla and talent manager Arnold Vegafria.

At the press launch of Torque mobile phones today, December 9, the actress-endorser clarified the issue.

She denied being held back by the Regal Film honcho to promote Asiong Salonga, saying there is no "legal threat" at all.

"Wala naman! Wala namang legal threat! I'm not even not allowed to promote," stated Carla.

"Hindi ko lang talaga kakayanin mag-promote ng dalawang movies, but wala namang legal threats, wala namang anything na ganun.

"I'm just really thankful that I have two movies. Bihira lang yun sa isang artista na dalawang movie sa filmfest.

"Ang ganda pa pareho!"

The Kapuso actress stressed that Mother Lily had nothing to do with her absence at the press conference of Asiong Salonga the previous day.

Carla said, "Hindi naman. Wala naman siyang sinasabing, 'Bawal, bawal!'

"Wala naman siyang sinasabing ganun but because Regal is my...exclusive producer [at] exclusive movie talent ako ng Regal, siyempre ang priority ko is Yesterday Today Tomorrow."

Carla also said that Governor ER does not hold a grudge against her.

Ayoko yung mga tao n inuuna ang pasyal s trabaho pero mukha nmn pera at reklamador. Like heart evangelista, inuna ang pasyal at pagbalik JOBLESS reklamadora at sinisi s bigger star ang rason. Now si Carla nmn, aba in the 1st place kung di kaya magpromote o gawin ang trabaho mo ng buo wag ka n kumuha ng work. Sayang talga si Carla gusto ko p nmn cya.

I will be piss off if i were gov er triple binayad nya na talent fee kay carla tapos yan lang reason ni carla sana binibigyan din nya importansya yun pagpromote sa asiong salonga kasi binayaran naman sya sa tf na mas malaki pa nga sa bigay ni mother na later ang bayad. Kahit love kita carla kung ako nasa katayuan ni gov er magsisisi ako bakit pa ikaw napili ko dami naman artista dyan mas sikat kesa sayo.

ano pa habol in ER Ejercito, kahit todo promote pa ng movie nya, cgurado mangungulelat yan sa takilya. Puro higante mga kalaban, Vic Sotto at Ai-ai, Bong Revilla at Iza Calzado, Kris Aquino, tapos Regal entry pa na Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow. Wag ka na mag effort pa ER, sayang lang ang pagod at gastos mo. Expect ka na lang ng breakeven sa puhunan mo.

omg Im starting to like Carla by just reading articles about her I mean kakaiba syang sumagot compare mo dun sa dalawang artista na may initial na A at M, tagalog na nga di pa marunong sumagot pwe!.. Napanood ko sya dati sa SRR very promising.Just like Iza very wholesome si Carla walang nega so far.
