John Lloyd Cruz is giving himself "five years more" before settling down and building his own family.

At the press conference of Magic Flakes held earlier today, December 15, the top matinee idol was asked by PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and other entertainment media about marriage.

"Marriage, medyo... I can say na malayo pa kasi I'm 28 now," the well-liked actor said. "Ah, siguro... Mahirap sabihin no, parang, pag nakasalubong ko...

"Naniniwala kasi ako dun, e—pag nakasalubong mo, na-meet mo yung tao, and then, it happened, okay na, di ba?

"Pero, ideally, five? Five more years?"

And what he's doing now, according to the award-winning actor, is  preparing for the future.

He added, "Sana within that five years, sana ma... di ba parang, I guess, the next relationship would be parang a set-up na for the next five years."

But it is not as though he's deadset on marrying at the age of 33 or 34.

"As of this very moment, wala pa sa isip ko yung marriage," he stressed.

"Pero yung mga ini-invest ko ngayon, siguro, puwede mo nang tawaging set-up na. Parang sine-set ko pa lang yung foundation ko as a person, as a man, as a would-be provider, parang ganun pa lang."

Has he found "the one"?

"Yun yung pinaka-complex yata sa lahat," the Star Magic talent mused.

"Ahm, puwede rin... namang na-meet mo na yung girl, pero hindi mo pa lang alam at that time na siya na pala yun."

It's hard, he said, to tell whether he has found the right girl or not. "It's a personal thing," he went on, groping for the right answer.
