If rumors are to be believed, Lily Monteverde, shown here with Gabby Concepcion and Maricel Soriano, who star in Yesterday Today Tomorrow, will not join next year's MMFF. Manay Ichu Maceda (not in picture), a member of the Metro Manila Film Festival execom, explains why said movie was disqualified from competing in four categories of the 37th MMFF. "Actually, may violation kasi.

“Number two… disqualification from participating in next year’s film festival.

“Number three… disqualification from the awards.

“So we decided [to give the] least heavy [penalty]. Which is to disqualify [Regal] from the awards.

“Yes.

“In fact yesterday [Martes December 27] no’ng nag-meeting kami sa execom, inimbitahan namin si Mother Lily to explain her side because we believe in due process,” ani Manay Ichu.

“Nakakalungkot. Nakakalungkot.

“You know… I can understand what she’s going through.

“But then, a… we have been very lenient already.

“This is the second time for Mother Lily.

“Because the first time, nong winidraw niya ‘yong Hototay. Dapat ‘yon, may penalty na rin iyon. Na… ma-forfeit na rin ‘yong performance bond.

“Pero hindi namin ginawa. Kasi we just opted to receive a letter from her informing us that she was withdrawing Hototay,” aniya.

“No. Ang ipinadala nilang notice was a change in the casting which is the filmography. Which made no mention whatsoever of the deviation from the originally approved script and storyline," ang sabi ni Manay Ichu.

“A… I hope not. I hope not.

“Because kailangan natin si Mother Lily.

“Marami siyang kontribusyon sa industriya ng pelikula.

“So… I hope na ito ay pansamantala lamang. ‘Yong sama ng loob. ‘Yong tampo niya. Oo.

“But I’m looking forward na next year, sasali ulit siya,” ang sabi ni Manay Ichu.

BOX OFFICE RETURNS.

“For the first three days, number one talaga ang Enteng Ng Ina Mo… 91 million. Panday 2 got 51 million. Ang Segunda Mano got 49 million.

“Tapos ang Shake, Rattle, & Roll… 46 million.

“Then House Husband… 22 million.

“And… Yesterday Today Tomorrow… 4.1 million.”

Mas maganda raw ang box office result ng MMFF ngayong taon kung ikukumpara last year.

“Even ‘yong pinakamahinang pelikula, malakas ngayon.

More or less.

“Pero ‘yong top three, Enteng pa rin, Panday, at Segunda Mano.

“And with this development, siguro ay mas magiging maganda na ang agting preparasyon for next year.
