This is David Archuleta's fourth visit to the country.

"I could safely say that I always have a blast when I come [here], so [for me], it's always fun when I come to Philippines," he said.

American Idol alumnus David Archuleta looked very happy when he faced local media yesterday, January 13, at the Garden Ballroom of Shangri-La Plaza Hotel in Mandaluyong City.

David, 21, barely had any sleep since he left the United States and arrived in the Philippines early that morning, sleepy but alert. He answered questions from the press with humor and laughter.

This is his fourth visit to the Philippines.

After he placed second in the seventh season of American Idol in 2007, David visited the country three times for concerts and to promote his albums.

His frequent visits has led David to believe that the country's current slogan, "It's More Fun in the Philippines," is true.

"I could safely say that I always have a blast when I come [here], so [for me], it's always fun when I come to the Philippines,"
he told the entertainment press including PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal).

David added that he always looks forward to meeting Filipinos who are very warm.

"For me, the number one thing about any place is the people. That's what interests me, and what I remember most anywhere I go.

"Especially here, I feel comfortable here. The people are very friendly and they're very supportive."

TV5 MINI-SERIES. David's primary purpose in visiting the Philippines this time around is to fulfill a new obligation with TV5.

He has signed a contract to join the cast of an upcoming mini-series.

Although he declined to say how much he was offered, he admitted that he agreed to do the project because he loves his Filipino fans.

"Even though I may not be a [professional] actor, I thought this would be a really great new experience to try.

"Especially in the Philippines because I feel very comfortable with the people and I feel the fans here are very warm," he explained.

David's mini-series is titled Nandito Ako. He will play an international singer born in the Philippines.

PEOPLE ARE ALL GONNA KEEP BELIEVING WEIRD AND DIFFERENT THINGS BUT IT'S NOT GONNA CHANGE WHAT I THINK'' at least diba sinagot unlike others na iniiwasan and he's just soft and sobrang bait...

cont. Those are winners from the past seasons. But where are they now? Do all of you here even know those winners? At least David Archuleta, inspite of not winning the title still has his share of the spot light to this day. And Parade magazine names him as one of the Top 10 most successful American Idol alumni in terms of sales, Carrie Underwood being the number 1.

no.13 It's not that easy to make it big in the US. Either Palakasan or Paswertehan is the name of the game. Palakasan in the case of Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, at madami pa. Paswertehan in the case of Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson. Andami kayang nagsimula sa Hollywood na bata pa pero di nabigyan ng big break until naging adult na sila. FYI, Taylor Swift has been in the music industry for years before she became very popular via the hit single Teardrops on My Guitar. Before that song, none of us knew who Taylor Swift was but she had always been there. Marshal Mathers had to go through a lot of ridicules and booing, not to mention hard work before he became known as Eminem. Considering how many American Idol alumni there are, David's career is not doing bad. What happened to David Cook, the one who win that season? What about Ruben Studdard? I bet most of you here don't even have an idea who he is. Or Fantasia, Taylor Hicks, Jordin Sparks, Kris Allen, Lee Dewyze, Scott McCreery? Those are

Malaos man si David Archuleta...mas kilala pa rin siya kasi international singer po siya. I bet Mario would want to exchange places or career status with David. Kahit sinong artista ipagpapalit ang kasikatan locally just to have an international career.

iambrainful, maybe because ABS-CBN or GMA did not make any offer. Bad decision? I don't think so. It's not like David accepted this offer to become a superstar in the Philippines. Like he said, it's something he wanted to try before he leaves for his mission. If he wanted something more, he would have cancelled his mission, don't you think?

Correction lang PEP. Our Church does not EXPECT our male members to serve a mission. It gives us the members the free will and always emphasizes on our freedom to choose and make decisions. When you use the term EXPECT kasi, parang may pressure to do it. Our Church however encourages the young men to go on a mission for 2 years, but again it is neither expected nor forced. And just FYI, the women can go on a mission too. My sister did, she served a mission in Cagayan back in 2007. The men can apply for a mission once they have reached their 19th birthday and the women when they're 21. Men serve 2 years, the women 18 months. I wonder if David already found out where he will be serving. A lot of Mormon missionaries that are assigned in the Philippines are from Utah.
