Sam Milby on pursuing a career in Hollywood: "I don't know what to expect, but I'm excited."

Sam Milby on the hardest part of trying his luck in the States: "Just because sanay ako sa sistema dito. I mean, you know I don't have to audition, I've been very blessed. And not knowing what's going to happen. You know this is the first year, hindi ko alam kung ano ang mangyayari. That's excitement, but also in a way scary at the same time."

Hindi naman pala tuluyang iiwan ng actor-singer na si Sam Milby ang Philippine showbiz.

Ito ang binigyang-linaw ni Sam sa panayam sa kanya ni Boy Abunda para sa "Ikaw Na" segment ng late-night news program ng ABS-CBN, ang Bandila, na napanood kagabi, Enero 24.

Last quarter pa lang noong isang taon ay nabalita na ang pagpunta ni Sam sa Amerika para makipagsapalaran sa paggawa ng TV projects doon.

Marami naman ang nagkomento na bakit kailangan pang umalis ni Sam gayong nasa peak pa rin siya ng kanyang career dito.

Bakit kailangan niyang iwan ang Pilipinas?

"Hindi naman iiwan. Babalik naman po ako.

"May mga opportunities sa States na hindi ko puwedeng palampasin," paliwanag ni Sam

HOW DID IT START? Ano ba itong opportunities na sinasabi niya?

Ayon sa 27-year-old actor, "I'm going there for the pilot-week season.

"And I feel I have a step ahead kasi nakilala ko na yung mga major networks, and I have one of the best agencies in Hollywood, which is Gersh."

Ang The Gersh Agency (TGA) ay nagme-maintain ng pitong full-service departments: Talent, Feature Literary, TV Literary, Theater, Comedy, Below-the-Line, at Modelling agency.

Matatagpuan ang mga opisina nila sa Beverly Hills at New York.

Paano ba nagsimula ang lahat? Paano siya nadiskubre ng agency na ito?

Kuwento ni Sam, "Well, there was an executive sa one of the biggest networks that was looking for Asians na magaling mag-English.

"And then we have friends living in New York, Rich Briñas and Mario Briñas, that know her, and then say, 'Watch the Star Magic tour.'

    LOL napansin ko rin yun sa KrisTV yung nag guest si Ate Sam eh. Isama kaya niya yung boyfriend o kaibigan daw sa US o magpakasal na yata silang dalawa doon! Taga Ohio pa naman din yun. Bye PiolA pinalitan ka na talaga kasi may Mark ka naman eh!

    Good luck Sam, may lalaki naghihintay sayo doon sa hollywood. Hwag ka nang deny Sam kasi maski si Kris Aquino nashock sa bestfriend mong b a d i ng na dinala mo from Ohio. Kunwari ka pa. Gaya ni PiolitA ginamit mo rin si Anne Curtis!

    Good luck nalang kung mapenerate mo ang Hollywood ang hirap naman kasi nauuna ang press release sana tahimik Lang muna para hindi maudlot itlog palang binibilang na agad ang sisiw kaya nabubugok.

    Why did he move to Philippines in 2005 if he wanted an acting career in the US? He was born and raised there, diba? If I were him, galingan nya pa acting skills nya and go to local auditions for foreign movies like The Bourne Legacy...

    It was funny dahil bangus ang mami miss niya sa States and that's coming from a guy whose mom is Pinay! Don't tell me na hindi niya alam na kahit saang sulok ng US eh may Asians, at kung may mga Asians guranteed na may Asian stores lalo na sa California at New York. At kung may Asian's store may BANGUS not unless hindi siya marunong magluto pero marami namang Pinoy restaurants sa Cali!

    Good luck Sam. Pursue your dreams. What's important is you try to chase your dreams and are doing something to make it come true. Maging successful ka man o hindi, okay lang yan. At least, you can say to yourself that you did what you need to do to realize that dream. Just give your BEST!

    ng tagal naman umalis... ang tagal na ng paalaman... ang totoo nyan... puro flop ang sunud sunod na project ni sam from tv hanggang pelikula... kaya ang promo ng hollywood project ang pilit na ginagawang sensational... pero wala namang kumakagat... sayang si sam milby...
