THE LEGAL WIFE.

Taong March 26, 1994 nang ikinasal sina Iggy at Alicia. Magkapitbahay daw sila noon sa La Vista, isang exclusive subdivision sa Quezon City.

"Mabait siya, tahimik, when we were together," paglalarawan ni Alicia tungkol sa yumaong asawa.

Accepted and foreign will sa Philippines... That is fair and square dahil NGAYON lang naman siya biglang sumulpot.

he.he.he. nakakatawa sila.

Spare my daughter, Iggy pleads By Jess Diaz The Philippine Star 03/24/2007 Negros Occidental Rep. In a statement addressed to his wife and the public, he said, "As you all know, Alicia Arroyo has been doing the rounds and spreading false accusations against me and my family. I am shocked that she has stooped that low."

I am shocked that she has stooped that low." Arroyo also said he "will not engage her in a public debate of our domestic troubles. I will maintain my dignity and that of my family and protect whatever little privacy my daughter has left. And I want you to know that I will protect my daughter even at the cost of my own life. I would never, ever do anything that would even remotely endanger her well-being."

Arroyo was commenting on the protection order Alicia sought from a family court in Quezon City, claiming that her life and the life of her daughter were in danger. Under the order, the Arroyo is to keep a distance of at least 100 meters from his wife and daughter. Alicia also said her husband belongs to the "most powerful political family in the land."

Alicia, a stockbroker and former president of the Philippine Stock Exchange, said Arroyo has abandoned them and has been living with his mistress. She also said Arroyo is not giving them financial support. Arroyo has gone to court so he can visit his daughter regularly and said in his statement that, "for the record, I categorically deny the lies that Alicia has been spreading against me and my family. I will not comment beyond that because these issues are now in court. But have pity on my daughter. It’s bad enough that she cannot see me because of the devious acts of her mother."

"I remind Alicia that, under the very law that she invoked, all the records in this case are to be treated with confidentiality. You will note that when I filed the case, you did not ever hear about it. By contrast, Alicia has made a circus out of this otherwise sad affair for obvious reasons." "We will continue to seek the courts’ fair resolution of all our domestic issues, specifically custody over my daughter," he said. "Please be fair to my little daughter. She has suffered enough. Thank you." Interviewed by The STAR later, Arroyo said he has no choice but to obey the protection order that his wife obtained from the family court.

His reply to Alicia’s her claim that their lives were in danger is this: "From whom? I would not hurt them. That’s all kalokohan tomfoolery." He also denied that he abandoned his wife and daughter: "I have not. That’s why I am seeking custody of my daughter – or at least I obtain visitorial rights so I could visit her regularly." Arroyo also sidestepped a question about whether he is giving his wife and child financial support: "I’m willing to set up a trust fund for my daughter."

Arroyo is one of the wealthiest members of the House of Representatives and is worth about P280 million. Meanwhile, Negros Occidental local government executives distanced themselves from Arroyo and his wife, saying the matter between husband and wife was personal. However, residents of Arroyo’s Hacienda Manolita in Binalbagan town were saddened over the emotional turmoil of Arroyo and his family and expressed disappointment that this upheaval has kept Arroyo away from campaign sorties in the fifth district of Negros Occidental. "We know Congressman Arroyo as a kind person and we don’t believe the lies that are being sown against him," the hacienda residents said.

A source privy to the couple said they have nothing in common, noting that while Arroyo is silent, Alicia is outspoken and notorious for her tantrums. "She was not actually loved," the source said of Alicia, adding that Arroyo had tried to involve his wife in the programs he was implementing in his district, but such moves generated negative feedback from his constituents and local government executives because of Alicia’s perceived "insincerity." The Kabalikat ng Malayang Pilipino Kampi, to which Arroyo belongs, decried attempts to drag Malacañang into what is seen by the political party as a family dispute. Kampi spokesman and Isabela Rep. Anthony Miranda said bringing the civil case between Arroyo and his wife to the public during the political season may be part of a "demolition job" by still unidentified forces out to bring down the Arroyo administration. "They are making a big issue out of a family feud," Miranda said in a telephone interview. "They are trying to make a domestic

"It is unfair to link the civil case of Iggy to Malacañang," Miranda said. "Arroyo and his wife also have their share of problems that must be settled in the civil courts rather than bringing them to the public and using them as political propaganda against the administration." He added that "meddling in a civil case which is pending before a family court will not do good to the country." In late 2003, when opposition Sen. Panfilo Lacson accused Arroyo’s elder brother, First Gentleman Jose Miguel Arroyo, of allegedly hiding some P260 million in supposedly illegal funds under the name Jose Pidal with his secretary and brother as dummies, the younger Arroyo said he was the real Jose Pidal and that he owned the bank accounts Lacson attributed to the President’s husband. During the course of a Senate investigation, however, he refused to talk about the accounts and the two residential-commercial condominiums in downtown San Francisco, California that then Sen. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and her hus

The case involved the custody battle over the nine-year-old daughter of the Negros lawmaker and his estranged wife. The court has granted a 30-day temporary protection order to Mrs. Arroyo while the custody battle over their daughter is ongoing. Pison approved the protection order requested by Mrs. Arroyo, who had claimed that unidentified men have been tailing her since her lawmaker husband sought parental custody over their daughter. The court ordered the congressman to maintain a 100-meter distance from his wife and daughter. Aside from the issuance of the order, Pison also instructed a social worker to evaluate the condition of the couple’s daughter. It also ordered a pre-trial conference between the two camps. Reports said Arroyo left their home in La Vista subdivision in Quezon City last year. In January, the Negros lawmaker filed a petition to have custody of his daughter. Reports also quoted Mrs. Arroyo as saying that ever since her husband got involved in the "Jose Pidal" sc

IGGY ARROYO'S MARITAL TROUBLE: IGGY MULLS LEGAL ACTION VS PUBLISHER MANILA, MARCH 25, 2007 STAR By Perseus Echeminada - Negros Occidental Rep. Ignacio Arroyo is preparing to file charges against the newspapers that published the issue of custody of his nine-year old daughter, his lawyer and spokesman said yesterday. Ruy Rondain said Arroyo is planning to file libel charges against the newspapers that came out with the story in violation of the confidentiality clause of Republic Act 9262, or the law against violence against women and their children. Rondain said the newspapers based their stories on confidential records kept at the sala of Judge Rosalina Luna Pison of the Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 107. "Records of the case are strictly confidential, but they have spread," Rondain said. He said the reported gag order issued by the court is just a reiteration of the law banning the publication of the identities of persons and the details involved in domestic and family
