All she wanted was to sing.
So when Roseanne Magan heard about GMA-7's audition for eight- to ten-year-old kids, she joined without hesitation.
She sang two songs, "Isang Lahi" and "Bukas Na Lang Kita Mamahalin," and as Direk Maryo J. delos Reyes put it, "Dumaan siya sa butas ng karayom."
Out of more than a thousand kids, this young lady—who can sing the high notes of Regine Velasquez with the clarity of Carol Banawa's voice—was chosen to become the next Biritera.
In a soft voice, the latest Kapuso discovery said, "Sa akin po, kung napili po ako ngayon, ahm, siyempre po tuwa.
She admitted to feeling shy and nervous. What gave her strength was the thought: "Para ito sa pamilya ko."
WHO IS ROSEANNE? The Grade 3 pupil of Eulogio Rodriguez Integrated School is the sixth of seven children of Juanito, a factory worker, and Rosemarie, a housewife.
Her family, she said, is "mahirap."
